CHRISTMAS RECYCLED DECORATIONS IN FRONT FOYER: FROM DEC 2 TO 20TH:
Demonstrating creative ways to recycle and decorate – bring in your ideas and upcycle items. Trees will be set up to be decorated; everyone welcome to participate.

SAANICH VOICE ONLINE WRITING COMPETITION:
Students in Grades 9 to 12 on Saanich Peninsula. See your English teacher, or front office window for details. Four categories: activism, environmentalism, humour, or humanitarianism. Journalistic review, op-ed, or fiction. Deadline: Wed Dec 18, 2013.

JR GIRLS BASKETBALL PRACTICE: Thurs Nov 28 -  3:15 to 4:45 p.m.

JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL – final names are posted in front window of entrance to main office. Practice this week: Friday Nov 29 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

GOOD LUCK to the Senior Girls Basketball team as they play in the Soar With The Eagles BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT at Woodland this weekend.

Congratulations to Parkland Sailing Academy students for doing so well at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club regatta. Colin Bishop & Chad White came 1st in the gold fleet round, with two first place finishes & a third place to take top spot.Thomas Bennett & Theo DuQuesnay came third in the gold fleet round, with one first place finish & two third place finishes. Only one crew ended up capsizing but they changed their clothes & got back out on the water. It was a great day to finish the fall sailing league. If you are interested in coming out for sailing in spring 2014, see Mr. Roome in early spring.

ROYAL COMMONWEALTH SOCIETY ESSAY COMPETITION: see front office window for rules & regulations, including word restriction & essay topics. Prizes up to $500. Deadline for entries: Friday, January 31, 2014.

BEAVERBROOK VIMY PRIZE: submit essay or project on specified question posted on Vimy ridge website. Deadline: midnight February 1, 2013. See front office window for details.Win scholarship to study in Britain, Belgium or France next summer!

BAYSIDE COMMUNITY CRAFT AND CHRISTMAS FAIR: Thursday Dec 5, from 3 p.m. To 7:30 p.m., followed by Bayside Winter Band Concert.

ROYAL OAK MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNUAL GIFT SALE AND CHRISTMAS FAIR:
