MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:
Green Team ladies - bus is leaving for Claremont at 11:30. Please head there as soon as the bell rings for lunch.

Fit for Life 12 - a reminder we are bowling today at Miracles Lanes. Please arrive at the bowling alley by 2:00.

IMPORTANT ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS MEETING TOMORROW TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18 AT LUNCH IN THE THEATRE!!

Learning Commons is streaming the OLYMPICS before school, during breaks, lunch & after school. Come & cheer team Canada on! Most of the live events are on during the morning. See you there!

LAST CHANCE PARKLAND SPIRIT WEAR: FOR ALL THOSE STUDENTS WHO ARE NEW IN SEMESTER TWO, OR WHO MISSED FIRST ROUND OF ORDERS.  Parkland Spirit Wear baseball t's,-t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, zip-up hoodies, v-necks, pocket sweatpants, no pocket sweatpants available. Order forms, payment at front office. Order deadline: FRIDAY FEB 28 – DON'T MISS IT!

UVic will have an advisor available at Parkland on Thursday, February 27th from 9:30 to 11:30 to assist students with scholarship, program or registration information.  The appointment sheet is now available on Mr. Choo's door for you to sign up.. 

SAILOR FOR A WEEK PROGRAM @ HMCS MALAHAT over spring break: students 17 and over can apply to learn more about the Naval Reserve. Take part in sea survival training, fast boat rides, hands on learning, ship's tour, naval bridge simulator, boot camp, and various sports. NO COST TO PARTICIPATE, but you must put in application – available from Ms. McNamee in Career Centre, or from the front office. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday February 28. First come, first serve!

The Minerva Foundation for BC Women is having a Leadership Development workshop at UBC from May 23-25th.  Parkland can put forward the name of one grade 11 girl.  Pick up information & application package at the office.Deadline for applications to the office is Thursday February 20th. Please see Ms. Chicanot for more information.

TUTORING OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE: any student wishing to tutor Brentwood students:Grade 6 Math & Grade 4 English; please see Mr. Buckham for details.

INTRAMURAL DODGEBALL SCHEDULE:
Monday Feb 17 – Sayril's team versus Team Loftus
Tuesday Feb 18 – The Plugs versus Spencer Nelson's team
Wednesday Feb 19 – The Plugs versus Sayril's team
Thursday Feb 20 – Jonny's team versus Morgan's team

The Senior Girls Basketball Team were on FIRE at the South Islands over the Weekend and with just one Grade 12 Player, their level of play was OUTSTANDING!

- Friday Feb 14th vs Esquimalt they won 75 to 34 with top scorers: Emma Dennis & Lauren Fanelli 16 points each, Breanna Clooney 13 points and Arianne Stevenson 11 points.

-  Saturday Feb 15th two games. They won their 1st game to guarantee them a spot at Islands next weekend in Courtenay by beating SMU 58 to 47. Top scorers: Breanna Clooney & Emma Dennis with 12 points each and Lauren Fanelli & Arianne Stevenson with 11 points each.

-2nd Game on Saturday vs. Brentwood College.  After tying up at half, they gained the lead in the 3rd quarter, but finally lost 55 to 47. Top scorers Arianne Stevenson 18 points, Katie Isfeld 14 points and Breanna Clooney 9 points.

The Team felt very lucky to have  support from Mr. Sutton, Mr. Buckham with his sons, and Mr. Young with his daughter and son. Thank you! Your cheering had a huge impact on how well the team played. Congratulations to Parkland Senior Girls!

Peninsula Box Lacrosse 2014 Registration at www.penlax.com. Assessments take place soon & season starts after spring break. Open to players aged 5-16. Play the fastest game on two feet!
