BIG NEWS: MRS. LAWES' – Parkland's EA's sister-in-law just won GOLD IN OLYMPIC CURLING THIS MORNING, AND HER TEAM SET A WORLD RECORD, UNDEFEATED IN 12 GAMES AT THE GAMES IN SOCHI. Congratulations from Parkland!

All Entrepreneurship students from semester 1 please meet in Room 210 TODAY @ lunch.

Writing 12 Students! Please come to an important meeting @ lunch in room 111 TODAY Thursday the 20th. Just one week to prepare for our public reading. All writers must attend.

GRADE 11 GIRLS: Minerva Foundation Deadline for applications TODAY: Thursday February 20th. Please see Ms. Chicanot for more info.

Learning Commons is streaming the OLYMPICS before school, during breaks, lunch & after school. Come & cheer team Canada on! Most of the live events are on during the morning. See you there!

REMEMBER: FRIDAY FEB 21 IS NON-INSTRUCTIONAL DAY – NO SCHOOL!

Attention ALL Girls Soccer Players - try-outs are postponed one week due to gym conflicts, but there is a short meeting next TUESDAY, Feb 25th at break in the P.E. classroom. Please attend!

UVic will have an advisor available at Parkland on Thursday, February 27th from 9:30 to 11:30. Appointment sheet is now available on Mr. Choo's door for you to sign up.. 

Thursday February 27th Parkland will be holding its 3rd Annual Open House. Entire families are encouraged to attend: there will be many activities for younger students including the huge inflatable obstacle course from Panorama. Parkland students will be hosting & participating in activities. Please encourage your family, friends and neighbours to come, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.!

ALL GRADS: final due date for ALL Grad yearbook Write-ups is Friday February 28th. Info sheet at the office details how to submit. All submissions should be emailed Ms. Thompson, at:  kristinethompson@sd63.bc.ca

FINAL SCORE: SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL LAST NIGHT: Stelly's 59; Parkland 49.
Top Scorers:Godwin Porlares 19 pts; Harrison Archdekin 8 pts; Steve Ehrlich  7 pts; Colin Bishop 7 pts.Thank you to all the Parkland Parents & Students who showed their support last evening! The boys played very well, but unfortunately, ran out of steam in the second half. The team brought it back within two points with less than 2 minutes to go. Coach Mr. Pires is so Very Proud of the Senior Boys, their Effort, Attitude, & most importantly their Sportsmanship, which is second to none. With Mr. Pires  coaching, & the Talent on this Team, they are destined for big things next year!

Peninsula Box Lacrosse 2014 Registration at www.penlax.com. Assessments take place soon & season starts after spring break. Open to players aged 5-16. Play the fastest game on two feet!
Congratulations to Parkland Senior Girls Basketball team on their recent games! Good luck at Islands Tournament this coming weekend.
