MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

ALL STUDENTS: please return your brown STUDENT FORMS and invoices ENVELOPE to the front office as soon as possible this week.

Attention all senior students: CANADIAN UNIVERSITY EVENT (CUE) will be at Parkland, Wednesday October 1, 8:30 to 10 a.m. We're the only public school in Saanich and greater Victoria hosting recruiters from over 40 universities from across Canada. Fantastic opportunity for Grade11's to find out which courses they need in Grade 12 to apply for university programs. Excellent opportunity for Grade 12's to ask questions about admission, programs, and scholarships. See you there!

Do you love to read? Come to the Library Leaning Commons - Tuesday September 30 at lunch for the first Parkland Book Club meeting of the year! See Mr. Mueller or Mrs. Shook for more details!

Attention all INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Whistler trip application deadline is fast approaching, please pick up your forms from Mrs. Downs in international office today.

ALL GRADS: Meeting for all those interested in being part of Grad Committee, Thursday October 2, at lunch in Ms. Thompson's room 108. All Grads interested in helping plan grad events must attend!

GRADE 10 STUDENTS INTERESTED IN INTERNATIONAL ROTARY EXCHANGE, DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Tuesday SEPTEMBER 30, 2014.

VITAL YOUTH GROUP meets every Wednesday during lunch break in Room 212. If you have an interest in giving money to charities, this is the group for you. Everyone is welcome. If you are interested but cannot attend meeting, please see Ms. Hackman.

FIRST CROSS COUNTRY PRACTICE is today Monday Sept 29 after school. Please meet in the gym at 3:15 p.m.. If you would like to race on Wednesday, and can not make this practice, please see Ms. Dibblee.

ATTENTION SOCCER PLAYERS: Very important practice Monday Sept 29 and Tuesday Sept 30 after school, on the field. Please be ready to attend. The league starts Thursday.

Attention: all JUNIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL players – IMPORTANT PRACTICE on Tuesday Sept 30 after achool in the gym. Please be sure to attend.

INTRAMURAL CLASS:  meet in the GYM Tuesday and Thursday.

INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL SIGN UP SHEETS are in the gym. Fill out a form by Wednesday October 1 to enter the league.

SENIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL – practice in the GYM, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday after school. All students welcome to try out. See Mr. Chan.

CAREER CENTRE NEWS:  please see Ms. McNamee

PARKING LOT ATTENDANT NEEDED: October 4 and 5 to coordinate parking at Saanich Fairgrounds for Jewellery Show. Looking for 4 students; $10.25 per hour; 7 hours per day. See Ms. McNamee asap if you are interested.

FOODSAFE COURSE offered by Beacon Community Services Sat October 4. Please see Ms. McNamee by Sept 30;  reduced cost of $50 available if you register early.

CENTRE FOR SPORT & EXERCISE ED at Camosun College is having an information session for students interested in their programs – THURSDAY OCTOBER 16 & THURSDAY NOVEMBER 20. Programs include: Athletic and Exercise Therapy, Sports Management, Sport Performance, many more. See Ms. McNamee for info.

ALL SUMMER WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS  - please hand in all completed paperwork before end of this week, to Ms. McNamee.

   MUSIC REHEARSALS before school in the mornings:
    Rehearsal Schedule: Monday (7-8:15am) - Jazz Band; Tuesday (7-8:15am) - Senior Concert  
   Band;  Wednesday (7-8:15am) - Jazz Band;  Thursday (7-8:15am) - Senior Concert Band;  
   Friday (7-8:15am) - Choir .
