Block B classes will be visited by student council members promoting the upcoming Halloween dance!

The Parkland Book Club will be having their first meeting on Friday at Lunch in the Learning Commons" Bring your copy of "The Giver"!

There will be a card signing in the foyer at lunch today for Myles Harper who was in a mountain bike accident last weekend. Please come and wish him a speedy recovery!

Any students interested in taking part in BC Hydro Energy Ambassador Program, see Ms. Dibblee to sign up before Wed Oct 22. This is an opportunity to work with students from Parkland & around the district on energy conservation & education issues.

KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS: Livnig homeless, especially during the winter months, is a nard reality for some. If you know how to knot, or are willing to learn, join us Thursdays @ lunch, in room 212, and help warm the homeless!

Arts in the Schools Fundraiser Parkland School Jazz Band is proud to participate in the 2nd Annual ArtSea Festival Gala Concert - Friday, Oct 24th at 7 p.m. in Charlie White Theatre in Sidney. Event features show tunes from Sidney Concert Band, dance performances from Allegro Performing Arts Academy and a rousing finale from Parkland School's Jazz Band. Proceeds from the concert help to support music & arts education in School District 63. Tickets: Mary Winspear Centre Box Office @ 250-656-0275 or online at www.marywinspear.ca. Ticket price of $15 includes light refreshments.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

The Sr boys played their best game of the season so far against Spectrum yesterday afternoon. Despite goals from Pierre, Ben, Chris and Marcelo they lost by one goal.  Their next game is next Tuesday at blue heron against Stellys.  Come out and support the team

The Sr Boys Volleyball team were in action Wednesday night hosting Esquimalt, Claremont & Stelly's. The team ended up winning 4 games & losing 2. Parkland is in second place in the league with 12 wins, 4 losses.
