SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETINGS, EVENTS:

If any student is interested in taking Comparative Civilizations 12 at Parkland we will be offering this course after school on Fridays.  Please meet in room 200 on Friday September 18th for more information on this opportunity.


B.C. TRANSIT BUS PASSES: If you missed photo day, you can contact B. C. TRANSIT on your own to get photo done, and B.C. TRANSIT pass made. Call the Photo Pass Office: 250-995-5682.

Sailing:  Monday Sept 14th at lunch in room 112

Jazz Band: Monday Sept 14th at 7am in the Band room

Concert Band: Tuesday Sept 15th at 7 am in the Band room

Leadership:  Tuesday Sept 15th at lunch in room 112

Intramurals:  Tuesday Sept 15th at lunch in the gym

Yoga: Tuesday Sept 15th at 7am in the theatre

Journalism:  Wednesday Sept 16th at lunch in the Learning Commons

Choir: Friday Sept 18th at 7am in the theatre

Comparative Civilizations: Friday Sept 18 at 1:50 in room 200

These times will be posted outside the office for reference

 

There will a meeting for all those students registered in the sailing program on Monday September 14th at lunch in room 112. Please see Ms. Frith if you can not attend. 


The Math Help Centre will open on Monday September 14th and will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.


There will be a meeting for all students registered in the leadership course at lunch on Tuesday in room 112. Please see Ms. Frith if you cannot be attend.

STUDENT WRITING CONTEST: Sidney and Peninsula Literary Festival student writing contest - DEADLINE September 23, 2015 - see posters on notice boards, and Mr. Mueller for information.

ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS: GET READY TO JOIN INTRAMURALS, TRY OUT FOR A TEAM!

Attention all students registered in Intramurals this year, the first class will meet Ms. Thompson in the Gym at Lunch on Tuesday, September 15th. Bring your gym strip!

INTRAMURALS : see schedule posted through the school year in gym.

Notice to all Girls interested in playing Volleyball this year. There will be practices after-school from 3:15-5pm on Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16 next week. Come in gym strip ready to play! See Ms. Thompson for more information. 


ATTENTION all MALE SOCCER players: there will be a meeting on Monday September 14 at lunch in room 200. All must attend if you want to play this year. The first boys' practice will be on Tuesday September 15 at 3:15 p.m. Hope to see you there!

The first cross country practice will be next Thursday, September 17th from 2:15-3:15 (right after early dismissal). If you are interested in being part of the team, please meet on the track, ready to run. Runners of all abilities are welcome to come out and join the team!! See Ms. Dibblee in the gym for more information.

 

Are you a senior student who likes PE and currently has a spare block? Would you like to earn some extra credits? If so, the PE department is looking for student helpers in all block of the day. Please see Mr. Sutton, Ms. Dibblee or a counsellor for more information.

Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing
industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being
contaminated.

The Victoria Flying Club is hosting a Career Fair and Open House on Saturday September 19 and we would love to have a number of local students in attendance.  There will be a variety of sectors from the aviation industry represented, and a number of opportunities for students to hear from and speak with industry leaders, experts, and pilots. Welcome back music students!

7am rehearsals will start NEXT week with the first being Concert Band on TUESDAY morning, the 15th. Jazz Band will meet Wednesday morning and Choir will meet Friday morning, as follows:

Jazz Band  starts Monday September 14 at 7 a.m. Band room; Concert Band starts Tuesday September 15 at 7 a.m. Band Room; Choir starts Friday September 18 at 7 a.m., Theatre.
