SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETINGS, EVENTS:

LAST DAY FOR DANCE TICKETS  - ON SALE TODAY  in  front foyer for the HALLOWEEN DANCE TOMORROW Thursday October 29 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Doors close at 7 p.m.. Any students who would like to bring a guest must fill in a guest application form available from the front office. Don't miss out on this fun event!

Any students who would like to read a poem or perform a number
for the Remembrance Day Assembly, please see Ms. Chicanot with your idea.
We are looking for 2 or 3 pieces for the assembly.


There is an important meeting for all Journalism students today at lunch, IN ROOM 105.

Green KONA mountain bike was stolen from bike area Monday October 26. Has green pedals and grips. If you know anything about this event, please see Mr. Buckham.

There will be a special meeting for all students registered for Law 12 and
Psychology 12 in second semester on Thursday October 29 in Mr. McKinney's room at lunch. 
Please do not miss this meeting.  There will be pizza.

On Friday, Oct 30 at lunch, there will be a Halloween Costume contest and photo booth in the main foyer. 
Judges will be looking for the scariest, most creative and funniest costumes to give away prizes to.
Come on out, bring your friends and your lunch this Friday in the foyer.


The Vital Youth Club is meeting on Monday, Nov 2 @ lunch in the counselling area. Please see Ms. Anderson if interested.

 
Unable to fit an Acting or Drama course into your timetable?  Interested in getting credits for an after-school program? 
If you need an outlet and like to work with other creative people, Ms. Irving is looking to start a class to run from January to May 2016. All students, grades 9-12 are welcome to attend a meeting Monday, November 2 at lunch time in the theatre.
 
Any new or returning International Students interested in attending the SISP Vancouver Trip
on Thursday November 19th, please pick up consent form from Ms. Jocelyne.

ANYONE WHO found an error in the spelling of your name on your student card, or school bus card,  please call LIFETOUCH directly to have this corrected, asap. All Cross Country Runners racing at Islands today need to meet in the gym at 11:45 today, ready to leave.


GIRLS BASKETBALL: Girls basketball tryout TODAY Wednesday OCTOBER 28 after school. All grade 9-10-11-12 girls wanting to play MUST attend the tryout.
Junior girls time is 3:10 - 4:30  P.M. All grade 9 and 10 girls .
Senior girls 4:30 - 6 P.M. All grade 11 and 12 girls.


SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS -  change up this Thursday to next Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m.

POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS B.C. (PSIBC) MINIFAIR is being hosted by Claremont on  tomorrow night - Thursday October 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. @ Claremont Learning Commons. Ten post-secondary institutions from across B.C. will be participating, including: QUEST, SFU, CAMOSUN, UVIC, VIU and others.

Lattitude Global Volunteering is an international youth development charity.

Soldier for a Day program: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7,  2015. Introduces the role of the Canadian Armed Forces - Army Reserve in Canada and internationally. Worth 5 hours work experience. Students grades 10 to 12 should see Ms McNamee for more info.

BAGEL BREAKFAST: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday mornings, before school, @ blue tables area.

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!
