DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS: special meetings, sports announcements, school events, regularly scheduled openings and rehearsals

ANNUAL CHATTERHIGH COMPETITION: starts September 19 to October 28 - answer questions daily and earn money for YOURSELF and for YOUR SCHOOL! See Camosun College ChatterHigh Competition page, and sign up!


ALL STUDENTS ARE REMINDED: if you want to take the SD 63 SCHOOL BUS this year, you must first register for the bus. Please pick up form at front office if you haven't already done so, and return next week.


Reminder to all INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS that the deadline for Camp Qwanoes trip is Thursday, September 22. There is still room. Bring your application to Ms. McRae in Counselling if you want to sign up.

ALL STUDENTS:  If you missed PHOTO DAY, please note: PHOTO RETAKE DAY IS OCTOBER 18. All students must have their photo taken, as these are used for YEARBOOK and STUDENT records system. Please be sure to have your photo done or redone Oct 18.

ALL STUDENTS: please return your intake packages as soon as possible to the front office!


ALL STUDENTS: locks may be purchased after you have your assigned locker, at front office: $5 for used locks, $10 for new. PLEASE COME TO TO   FRONT OFFICE before school, @ break, @ lunch, or after school ONLY. Do not leave your class to pick things up!

ALL STUDENTS: please pick up any June 2016 report cards from front office - before school, @ break, @ lunch or after school ONLY.

ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:


Attention: ALL INTRAMURAL ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP STUDENTS: You need to attend class at lunch in the gym on Monday September 19, Tuesday September 20, Wednesday September 21, and Thursday September 22.  SEE YOU THERE!


ALL SENIOR BOYS SOCCER PLAYERS: There will be another practice on Monday September 19 at 3:15 p.m.

ALL BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS; JUNIOR AND SENIOR - regular Sunday night drop-in with Mr. Coughlin, runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in Parkland Gym. Please come out for a run to play some pick-up basketball to get ready for the upcoming season!

PARKLAND ROWING TEAM needs rowers. All grades, boys & girls, no experience necessary. See Mr. Hilton in Room 100 to find out more and/or sign up.

ALL STUDENTS: if you are interested in SWIMMING OR RUNNING X COUNTRY for Parkland this year, please come to the gym to see Mr. Sutton.


CAREER CENTRE, CAREER EVENTS, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTINGS:

The newest Peninsula Co-op Gas and Convenience Store is opening this November, at McDonald Park Road,  two blocks from Parkland, and they are looking to HIRE! On Monday, September 26th, you can come and meet the new Gas Bar Manager and two members of the Peninsula Co-op Human Resources team.  They will be here to give a small presentation to interested students, and conduct mini interviews on the spot.
Have your resume ready, pre-apply on line, and see Ms. Mac if you are interested! Room 200 at Lunch September 26th - be there!


NOTICE TO ALL STUDENT WORKERS:  September 15th,  BC Minimum Wage went from $10.45 to $10.85!!!! Check your paycheque!

FIRE / RESCUE CADET CAMP INFO SESSION WED SEPT 21 -
Wonder what it is like to run into a building that everyone is running out of? Dream of using an extrication tool to cut up a car and extricate a victim? Want to make a difference? Southern Gulf Islands Secondary is hosting the Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp March 27  to April 1st.
Camp Participants will be challenged in the basic elements of Fire fighting, Search and Rescue, Medical First Response and so much more! See Ms. Mac ASAP if you are interested.
There is an information day on Wednesday September 21st at Gulf Island Secondary. If you would like to attend, you must get in touch with Ms. MacNamee asap.
