ALL GRADS: Tickets for the graduation ceremony at UVic are now available.  Please call UVIC TICKET OFFICE 250-721-8480 to reserve.

ALL STUDENTS: every day after school math help is available in room 201 ( across from the fishbowl lab).  If you missed math class due to illness or need some tutorial help you are welcome to attend.  Don't forget--every day after school there is math help available!

FOOD DRIVE FOR CHARITY:  TO FRIDAY MAY 19th, Parkland is holding a Spring Food Drive. Bring non-perishable food items to block C classes. Grade with the most donations will be deemed the winner! As a bonus, if you bring donations to the foyer at lunch on Thursday you will be entered into a competition to Pie a Teacher in the Face at Friday's Spirit Assembly. If you've always wanted to see what Mr. Brouwer, Ms. Dildy and others would look like with a face full of pie, now is your chance! So don't forget to bring in those non-perishable food items!

FRIDAY MAY 19 - SIDNEY CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA - @ St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 7:30 p.m., Tickets $25, and $13 for students.

SCHOLARSHIPS & GRAD 2017 NOTICES: see notice boards & Mr. Choo for details of scholarships, grants, deadlines.

The Freemasons' United Peninsula Lodge #24 have generously increased their scholarship and extended the deadline.  Any Parkland student with a history of community engagement, academic success and an ambition to proceed to Canadian college or university programs may apply.  Financial need will also be taken into consideration. There are now two $1000 scholarships instead of one $1500 scholarship. Deadline: May 31st.  Students that have already applied do not need to re-apply.  Contact Mr. Choo for details.

A new $2000 scholarship in memory of Constable Sarah Beckett has been established to award a student entering the field of law enforcement.  Deadline is July 1st.  Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident.  Please contact Mr. Choo for details.

Good news for our fine arts students: the deadline for the $750 Diane Cross Award for the Arts has been postponed to June 1st.  Email or meet with Mr. Choo for details.

c. RETAIL TRAINING: AVAILABLE IN SIDNEY, AND ONE OPENING IN BRENTWOOD BAY - one day a week for four weeks - you'll learn how to operate a cash register and point-of-sale machine. AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL:   EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL - except Mondays - TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL, in the Learning Centre Room 204.
MATH HELP CENTRE:
Monday and Wednesday after school: 3 to 4 p.m., Rm 201; and Thursday morning before school - 7:15 to 8:15 in Rm 112.

ENGLISH HELP CENTRE:   Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at lunch in the Learning Centre (room 204), staffed by a retired English teacher. Please see Ms. Chicanot if you have any questions about this.

SIDES HELP CENTRE: has started on Tuesday and Thursdays after school in the career centre. Come and get help with any SIDES course. See Ms. Anderson in the counselling office if you have questions.
CULTURAL ROOM TUTORING IS NOW AVAILABLE: Every day after school from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., in the CULTURAL ROOM. Please see Ms. Mack for assistance with assignments, studying for tests, or other tutoring needs.
