FALL SAILING is starting soon. If you are interested in registering for sailing, please come to a meeting on Monday September 18 in Mr. Roome's classroom, #103, at lunch.

IMPORTANT REMINDER to ALL students regarding their SD63 Google Accounts - you MUST have a Google Permission form signed by a parent and handed in to the office ASAP otherwise your Google account will be temporarily deactivated at the end of September.  All students received a Google Permission form in their student packages during the first few TAG classes of the year, and ALL of these package forms are expected to be signed and handed back into the main office by no later than this coming Friday Sept 15th.  Please see Mr. Mueller in the Learning Commons if you need another form so you can activate your account.


ATTENTION ALL GRADE 9 AND GRADE 10 SOCCER PLAYERS: If you want to play soccer this year, please come and see Mr. Sutton the GYM - ASAP!


ATTENTION: ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN RUNNING WITH THE PARKLAND CROSS COUNTRY TEAM, please come to the PE OFFICE IN THE GYM and sign up before Friday September 15!

VICTORIA FLYING CLUB IS HAVING THEIR ANNUALOPEN HOUSE this Saturday, September 16th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are interested in a career in any aspect of AVIATION, attend the open house and have a look!


NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Don't forget to hand in your form and payment for Camp Q to Ms. McRae in Counselling ASAP! There are 40 seats reserved for Parkland but this fills up quickly!
 
Also, Teens, ages 13 - 18 years, are invited to join the Sidney/North Saanich Library Teen Council. Work on special library and community projects. Next meeting: Friday, September 15, 4-5 p.m. If you have any questions, come see Mr. Mueller in the LLC.

GRADE TWELVE STUDENTS: If you would like to receive emails about scholarships, post secondary application and admission information, please Mr. Choo with your email address to be added to his contact list.  Some major scholarships will be available very soon.
 
GRADE 12 STUDENTS: LORAN scholarship now accepting applications.  The LORAN scholarship is worth over $100,000.  If you would like your application to be sponsored by Parkland, deadline is October 18th.  If applying on your own, deadline is October 25th.  Email Mr. Choo for details.

(4) KUMON MATH AND READING CENTRE: looking to hire two grade 11 students with strong English skills, who may be thinking of a career in Teaching! You will be READING ASSISTANTS, and must be available after school on weekdays. Please see Ms. McNamee for further information, and find out how to apply.


(5) COLEMAN FLOWERS - looking for a student to make flower bouquets. Each Tuesday afternoon starting @ 3:30 p.m., for approximately 4 hours a week. Must be able to stand for 4 hours. Job starts this week - starting wage: $11.35 per hour.

(6) SIDNEY / NORTH SAANICH LIBRARY - part-time LIBRARY PAGE job openings. Must be committed to quality customer service; provide good verbal and written communication; be able to work with people of all ages; enjoy completing tasks on time; be enthusiastic about innovation and working with the community.
