ALL STUDENTS: COME SIGN YOUR SIGNATURE for the yearbook! We want to get as many student signatures as possible! We'll be in the main foyer at lunch.


VALENTINE'S DAY CANDY GRAMS available to purchase Tuesday February 13th, and Wednesday February 14th, in the front foyer. Candy Grams cost $1.00, or purchase a candy gram with a hand-crocheted heart for $2.00


THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15TH - EDUTECH IN SIDNEY - FREE evening event open to all community members - from 4 to 7 p.m. - in the style of a localized trade show, showcasing a variety of businesses from the menufacturing and tech sector industries. Check our career opportunities, local growth and development plans, and find out about some interesting companies you didn't know were here!


ALL GRADS: repeat GT SESSION - FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16 from 2:`15 p.m. to 4 p.m.in the Learning Commons - all grads must attend at least one GT session.  Get some help if you need additional assistance - DEADLINE for completed GT BOOKLET IS COMING FAST!


SATURDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2018 - ANNUAL EXPLORE UVIC DAY - full day event enables students to visit UVIC, and explore INFO FAIR on all aspects of admissions, co-op ed, financial aid, awards, athletics and recreation, residence services. WITT - WOMEN IN TRADES & TECHNOLOGY EXPLORATION DAY - Wednesday February 21, 2018 - @ CAMOSUN COLLEGE from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Explore trades & technologies career pathways - electricians, auto service techs, sheet metal fabricators, carpenters, civil engineering, computer science, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering. Being in the "now" moment enables us to create a memorable past and a hopeful future. Presented by the Sidney / North Saanich Library Teen Advisory Group especially for teens and their adults. FRIDAY FEBRUARY 23 - YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM JOB FAIR @ Shoal Centre, Sidney - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - meet employers with summer and part-time job openings! Door prizes for the first 50 registrants! Meet employers: B.C. TRANSIT, BLACK PRESS, FAIRWAYS, NAVAL RESERVE, MCDONALD'S, PACIFIC PADDLE, RHINO LABOUR, PANORAMA RECREATION, SAVE-ON, SLEGG LUMBER.



SATURDAY FEBRUARY 24 - SOLDIER FOR A DAY - from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - 715 Bay Street, Victoria, B.C. For all students interested in CANADIAN ARMED FORCES RESERVES, how a soldier is trained, what equipment and vehicles are used. Experience a portion of the annual fitness test, receive basic instruction in marching and drill. SPACE LIMITED, so early registration is encouraged. See Ms. McNamee for details.



ANTI-BULLYING DAY IS COMING UP ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 28TH. Wear a pink shirt to symbolize a stand against bullying.



SOUTHERN VANCOUVER ISLAND SKILLS CANADA REGIONAL COMPETITION - DISCOVER TRADES & TECHNOLOGY EVENT: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2018 @ CAMOSUN COLLEGE - INTERURBAN CAMPUS. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BASKETBALL TEAMS ON THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST WEEK:

Our Senior Girls team put on two gutsy performances at their Lower Island tourney at Lambrick Park this past weekend but unfortunately did not make it through to the upcoming Island Championships.



Our Junior Girls & JunIor Boys teams are still competing this week and have represented their school well to this point; the Junior Boys play Esquimalt (at Esquimalt) this coming Wednesday after school.


Our Senior Boys won two out of three home games last week in exciting fashion - thank you to all those folks who came out to support last Thursday and Friday for the Spirit Nights! The boys continue on to their Lower Islands, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week - GOOD LUCK PANTHERS!


TIMES COLONIST 10k: Registration now open for race, April 29, 2018. Team name is: Parkland Panthers in  Island Farms School Challenge. For customized team t-shirts, we need 10 team members by noon Friday, April 6, 2018. See Ms. Dibblee for info.

LONGVIEW FARMS URGENTLY NEEDS DAFFODIL PICKERS. PIECEWORK @ $20 PER BOX. An average picker does 4 to 5 per day; good pickers over 10 boxes per day! See Ms. McNamee for further information.

5. ELK LAKE YARD AND HOUSEWORK - two students needed; outside and inside help required;  Saturdays 6 hours each day, starting in March @ $12.00 per hour.

6. KITTIWAKE PLACE, NORTH SAANICH - branch and leaf collection and bagging; 4 hours, $12.00 per hour.

1. FOOD SAFE LEVEL 1 - MONDAY MARCH 5 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - food service, food retail, food processing. $50 fee.

2. WORK SAFE FOR YEP - Friday May 4 - 3 hour FREE WORKSHOP; great for resume.

3. ALERT FIRST AID - SATURDAY MAY 5 - 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. - basic CPR, first aid, hands-on training. $50 registration.
