A LARGE NUMBER OF UBC APPLICANTS MISTAKENLY RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM UBC RECENTLY ASKING THEM TO REGISTER FOR THE JUMP START ORIENTATION. If you have applied to UBC, please check with Mr. Choo regarding the status of your offer.


The Parkland Internal Scholarships application form is now available from Mr. Choo.  Many scholarships are available for your non academic accomplishments in sports, community services, fine arts, trades, second languages and more.   Deadline is Friday April 27TH - NEW DATE!


If you're related to a current or past member of the BCGEU and able to write a short essay about protest and activism, you could qualify for a $2000 scholarship.  Deadline is April 29 at midnight.  Mr. Choo has more details.


BEACON COMMUNITY SERVICES offers $1500 scholarships for 3 graduating students dedicated to community service and volunteerism. IN OTHER WORDS, scholarships for those students who exemplify our mission of helping people and improving lives! Scholarship applications must be received before end of the day, Tuesday May 1, 2018. If you're a community minded resident of North Saanich, you can apply for a $1500 bursary sponsored by the North Saanich Volunteer Firefighters.  Volunteer service to the community is an important criteria.  Deadline is May 3rd.  Mr. Choo has more details.

FIFTH ANNUAL SEASIDE MAGAZINE "TAKING IT TO THE STREET" ROAD HOCKEY TOURNAMENT - Saturday June 9, 2018  from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Mary Winspear Centre, Sidney. b. GRADE 12 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: GET ON BOARD WITH THE STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - volunteer at this new event sponsored by SURFCANADA and Town of Sidney. Variety of volunteer jobs - set-up, clean up, vendor booths, food trucks - SATURDAY MAY 26 , SUNDAY MAY 27. Support Canada's National Team as they prepare for the 2019 Pan Am Games, and the 2024 Olympics! See Ms. McNamee for details, and sign-up!

c. DEAN PARK PET HOSPITAL is on the search for volunteers - that may or may not lead to a paid position! If you have an interest in working with animals, this is a perfect position for you! See Ms. McNamee for more details!

2. GREENHOUSE ASSISTANT APPLIED BIONOMICS: Watering and moving plants; cleaning plant pots; replacing growing mediums, and light maintenance duties. See Ms. McNamee for further details.

3. JAMES ISLAND - labourers on the golf course, and 2 workers for guest services and housekeeping. James Island is a privately owned island with an 18 hole Jack Nicklaus golf course - pay $15 hour to start. See Ms. McNamee for details on these jobs!

4. VICTORIA FLYING CLUB - customer service. Full time job for the summer. See Ms. McNamee for details.
