YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM: Sara Lawton from the Peninsula Youth Employment Program will be at Parkland on Tuesday October 2 at lunch, in the Career Centre. Find out how you can sign up for Food Safe, and First Aid courses, as well as information on part-time jobs and volunteer opportunities. Don't miss this great chance to meet Sara in person!


WORK EXPERIENCE 12 CREDITS: any students wishing to receive WEX 12A OR 12B CREDITS for this year, MUST with Ms. McNamee before the September 30th deadline! If you have a job or are volunteering, register for credits for your hours!


STUDENT AND BUS CARDS ARE NOW AVAILABLE - come to front foyer tables at lunch to pick up! Please do not come during class to pick up cards!

OPENING SEPTEMBER 25 to SEPTEMBER 30 - from 8 to 4 p.m. - CREATIONS OF THE MIND ART SHOW @ Tulista Park, Sidney, featuring Parkland art students. With the support of ArtSea, Parkland students proudly present a group show of digital and traditional media. Please join us in celebration of student creativity.

CALLING ALL CREATIVE YOUTH: SAANICH YOUTH ARTS COUNCIL is  NEW GROUP for crative youth aged 14 to 19, including visual artists, musicians, writers, poets, actors, singers, dancers and more! coming in NOVEMBER: CLAREMONT SECONDARY WILL BE HOSTING THE PSIBC (POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS OF B.C. ) event on Thursday November 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meet advisors on application, registration, housing, scholarships and bursaries options. All SD 63 secondary students and families welcome!


PAC Volunteer Opportunities: Parents and Guardians - Volunteering is a great way to connect with the school, students and staff. And it’s lots of fun too : ) Help needed!

Spirit BBQ - Friday Oct 5 - approximately  10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Help with serving lunch to our students and staff.

Bagel Breakfasts - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 7:30 - 8:15 a.m. Duties include: minimal set- up, collecting payment of 25 cents!, a quick tidy up.

(1) HILLSIDE CAREER FAIR - SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many different Hillside retailers participating - visit Guest Services for list, and bring several properly completed resumes to drop off!

(2) WORKBC JOB FAIR - THURSDAY OCTOBER 18, from 1 to 4 p.m., @ Central Baptist Church, 833 Pandora at Blanshard. Many featured employers include: Indigo, Fairway, WalMart, Slegg Lumber, Homewood Health Care. note: this is early dismissal day @ Parkland - get your resume tuned up to attend!

(1) SHOAL CENTRE DINING ROOM SERVER, ON CALL - food safe and first aid required; for weekend and weekdays, including evenings. $17 per hour.

3. RETAIL TRAINING - FREE! Offered in Sidney & Brentwood Bay. Training in: cash register, customer service, displays, inventory, pricing, opening and closing.
