PARKLAND CAFETERIA needs a few responsible and hard-working volunteers in A and C block. You can earn volunteer hours towards graduation or credits. If you are thinking of working in the Food industry this would be great experience for you. Please see Ms. Chicanot or Mr. Buckham if you are interested.


ALL GRADS: IF YOU HAVE NOT BOOKED YOUR GRAD PHOTO APPOINTMENT, PLEASE DO SO IMMEDIATELY. ALL GRADS MUST HAVE PHOTOS TAKEN for the yearbook, and the end of the year ceremonies, whether ordering photo packages or not. ATTENTION IB STUDENTS: A UVIC admissions officer will be in room 404 today at lunchtime to talk about admission for IB students. This is a focussed session especially about the implications of IB diploma and IB certificate for admission to UVIC.


10TH ANNUAL SCREAMFEST being hosted @ CLAREMONT SECONDARY SCHOOL: THURSDAY OCTOBER 25, AND FRIDAY OCTOBER 26 - SPOOKY from  6 to 7 p.m.; SCARY from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  - $10 PER PERSON, OR $30 FOR FAMILY OF FOUR. Massive Halloween event for all school district #63 students. Features a terrifying "haunted walk" winding through 400 meters of animatronics, live actors, etc. There are more than 20 midway games, a full concession, and great prizes, such as big screen televisions! Monday October 29, Parkland will be hosting 85 Japanese students - KICHIJO GIRLS for the day. Musical theatre students will be the buddies. If any other Parkland student would like to be buddied up with two Japanese students for the day, please let Ms.Chicanot know.

METAL RECYCLING BIN @ PARKLAND! UNTIL SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3! Please drop off any metal to recycle. Metal recycle bin @ back staff parking lot. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to Parkland athletics & hockey academy to support student athletes.

CONGRATS to Cooper Langard and Taiga Okamoto who both qualifed for Provincials in the Senior Boys Cross Country Race yesterday at Beaver Lake. Cooper was 8th, and Taiga was 23rd in a race of 92 boys from across the Island. JayleneMelling did an amazing job representing Parkland in the Senior Girls Race finishing off a strong first season as a Panther! Congratulations Panthers!
