Also LOCKER CLEAN-OUT DAY - remember, if you have a LOCK, or any SCHOOL SUPPLY ITEMS that you do not need, or will not use again, please donate to the front office for re-use and recycle for other students next year. Many thanks!

REMEMBER: All overdue library items, uniforms, and school fees must be returned or accounted for before receiving your yearbook.  *** REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS: EXAM SCHEDULE  NOW POSTED ON FRONT PAGE OF PARKLAND WEBSITE. If you  have a conflict with two exams scheduled at the same time, check in with your teacher, as well as with Mr. Buckham, to come up with a plan to write one of the conflicting tests at a different time. ALSO - BRING A SNACK! Cafeteria is closed exam week.

ALL GRADS ARE REMINDED: MAKE YOUR POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTION SELECTIONS (PSI) before July 12 to have your transcripts sent automatically to up to 25 institutions free of charge through the Ministry of Education. Please note: some entrance admission offers to college or university may be delayed or denied if you do not authorize release of your transcript data. Go to Ministry of Education website, student transcripts, and set up an account to complete your PSI selection, or to order transcripts. 


ALL GRADS: transcripts WILL NOT BE MAILED FROM THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION THIS YEAR. After July 30, you must go on-line and log on to: Student Transcripts Service TO ORDER YOUR GRAD TRANSCRIPT.


ALL STUDENTS: year-end report cards will be available for pick-up at the front office - TUESDAY JULY 2 to FRIDAY JULY 5. Report cards will not be mailed out. If someone else is picking up your report card, other than you or your parent, we must have written or text permission.


VOLUNTEERS WANTED: Student volunteers wanted to welcome new international students to Parkland next year. Must be available August 28 or 30. Please see Ms. Anderson in the counselling area if you are interested in helping out!

CANADIAN TIRE in SIDNEY is looking to hire for summer part-time positions - cashier, customer service, stocking shelves. Minimum wage - a great first job!


EVERSON LAW is looking for OFFICE ASSISTANT, with good customer service and time management skills. Front desk, reception, filing, scheduling appointments, and various administrative tasks to support senior paralegals and lawyers. ISLAND PRECISION MANUFACTURING: entry level jobs for production workers interested in wood manufacturing or construction trades. Training in safe, clean, respectful environment, to support someone with the motivation to go far in this industry. Student employees included in: material handling, finishing, assembly, custom cabinetry.  $16 per hour, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; overtime sometimes required. SUMMER POSITIONS AT FAIRMONT EMPRESS, downtown Victoria: Join Turndown Attendant team - part-time job for the summer; 4 hour evening shifts; your job is to ensure GUEST ROOMS are comfortable, inviting and clean. Starting pay rate: $18.05 per hour. Job involves room cleaning; bed-making; linen removal and replacement; dusting, vacuuming, record keeping; other duties. See Ms. McNamee !

SAANICH PENINSULA HOSPITAL LOOKING FOR YOUTH VOLUNTEERS:  many different activities - yoga, bingo, gardening, special events, mealtime, music, and much more! If you are interested in a health care career, this is a wonderful volunteer opportunity! See Ms. McNamee for further details.


STEP UP YOUTH PROGRAM: DEADLINE JUNE 30, 2019. Volunteer in healthcare settings - learn about Island Health's C.A.R.E. values, policies, patient-centred care. JULY 1 - CANADA DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. - help Lions Club serve pancakes and sausages to families before Canada Day Parade. Also, volunteers needed for Lunchbox in Iroquois Park for afternoon festivities. See Ms. McNamee for further details.


ENGINEERING FOR KIDS - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES from July 2 to August 30 - summer camps for kids interested in science, engineering, math or technology - enjoy hands-on, building minecraft / lego robotics / 3D design.
