EXPLORING AVIATION: VICTORIA FLYING CLUB - Thursday October 17, 1800 to 2030 hours - fun and engaging tour of Victoria Flying Club, short presentation about what's happening at Viking Air, and screening of the feature film: AS THE CROW FLIES - a 1.5 hour documentary showcasing an inspiring seven week aviation journey of Royal Canadian Air Cadets.


BIG BIG NEWS: METAL RECYCLING BIN HAS RETURNED TO PARKLAND! Please spread the word about this fundraiser for Parkland's athletic programs. All metal donations welcome. Please drop off in the bin the second parking lot at Parkland.

ALL 2019 GRADS: transcripts ARE NO LONGER BE MAILED FROM MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. Graduated students must go on-line to: Student Transcripts Service TO ORDER GRAD TRANSCRIPT. Grads may pick up their GRAD CERTIFICATE and GRAD CLASS PHOTO from the Parkland school office, in person, please!

SIDNEY SPARKLES PARADE - SUNDAY DECEMBER 1 - time TBA - many volunteers needed to help decorate the Beacon Community Services truck for the parade, and walk the parade. Meet at Shoal Centre, then walk the parade. See Ms. McNamee to sign up.

SAANICH PENINSULA HOSPITAL LOOKING FOR YOUTH VOLUNTEERS:  many different activities - yoga, bingo, gardening, special events, mealtime, music, and much more! If you are interested in health care, this is a wonderful  opportunity! 


TRAINING AND SPECIAL COURSES OFFERED:

FOOD SAFE LEVEL ONE: FRIDAY October 25th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - $50 - useful certification for anyone working in the food service, food retails, or food processing industries. Learn how to handle food safely. Sign up early - this course usually fills up!


ALERT FIRST AID WITH CPR AND AED: FRIDAY November 22; from 8:30 to 4 p,m.; fun and interactive course give training in reacting and improvising time priority, lie threatening emergencies. Covers all aspects of first aid. Sign up early - this course fills fast!
