Monday February 1, 2021  ~ DAY 2  

Quarter 3 starts today - everyone in attendance all day. Bus Routes - Morning pick up will remain the same, to bring you to school. Starting Feb 2 -  Lunch time – return home from school – go to the bus loop right after your Block 1 class. After school buses run at regular time to take you home.

Welcome to all the new students starting with us Quarter 3 as well as our new international students, who are eager to be at school and seeing where they are living after spending the last 2 weeks in quarantine.  It's great to have you all here.

The French club is meeting today after school from 3:10 to 4:10 in room 112. We are playing some conversation games and finishing off the movie A Cat in Paris. Mme Hassett remembered the popcorn today, too!

The Parkland Chess Club is starting up again. If you’d like to learn or improve at chess come to Room 106 at lunch on Wednesday or see Mr. Horncastle. Everyone is welcome

Students are you interested in Indigenous Culture? Looking to participate in an Indigenous Leadership group? Then join our Google Classroom with this code: oxdyxkt  The goal of this group is to continue to support and create opportunities for all students to engage in meaningful learning about local Indigenous culture. this group is working to strengthen our goal of being a school that is welcoming to all learners and community members, and reflective of the worldviews and culture of the W̱SÁNEĆ people on whose territories the school is situated. This is open to all students, not just Indigenous students so bring your friends! We will start in Quarter 3 and go until the end of Quarter 4, meeting every Thursday in Room 206 (Shannon's classroom) to discuss our different ideas and have chances to learn from different knowledge keepers in the area. First Meeting:  Thursday, February 4th

Central Saanich Little League Registration information. Ages 13-16

The Parkland Track 2021 campaign has been officially launched.  You will notice posters in the school and around the community advertizing this campaign.  We hope to raise enough money by June of next year to replace the track over the summer.  Please spread the word about this exciting new project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE NOW button on the website for those interested in donating.

Our District Indigenous Post-Secondary Liaison Shane Hartman is at Parkland every Tuesday from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Cultural room to answer questions and help you with your Post-Secondary needs. After School Math Tutorial Now Running (Virtually!)
Former Parkland Student and UVic math degree holder Chloe Hegland will be hosting extra-help sessions for math after school on Wednesdays from 2:15 to 3:30. Students will need their own device and Zoom account to join, but can do so from the comfort of their home. Drop in once you are home after school whenever you need help working through problems, require a mini review lesson, or want help studying for a test. The credentials to join are:
