We are holding a Spring Food Drive May 17-28. All donations, non perishables and cash donations, will be donated to the Peninsula Food Bank. The Block 1 class that collects the most wins a pizza lunch.

Peninsula Streams just published a newsletter, Citizen Science, that several of our classes have been involved with, enjoy their first edition.

Parkland is excited to announce our Spring Succulent Plant Track Fundraiser (Chicks & Hens). Please call 250-655-2700 to order or come into the school to pay and pick up at the office.  All monies raised will be added to our Track 2021 campaign.  Thank you for supporting Parkland!

Attention all Indigenous students. Shannon has posted a sign up for students to make appointments to go over their credits and grad plans for the next two weeks. Please go to the Google Classroom space to sign up for your appointment. Google Classroom code: x5xqsgt

School Bus registration for 2021/22 is now open until June 30, 2021. You will need your student number to register for transportation -  generally, 7 digits. Registration Home Page.

The next PAC Meeting & AGM Meeting is Monday, May 17 at 7:00pm  Positions for next year's PAC will be decided during the meeting. They will be conducting the meetings back to back via zoom, everyone welcome.

Do you have any books from your childhood that you don't read anymore? Donate them! 1000 x 5 is an organization devoted to bringing the experience of reading to children who don't have access to books.  They are looking for donations of all kinds of books, especially for ages 1-5 with good healthy themes and messages. There are boxes at the office and in the Learning Commons for your donations.

Attention all Nominal Roll students - the WSANEC School Board awards have been posted to the Google Classroom. Come see Shannon or Gina for more information on how to apply for these awards. Available to WSANEC members living in community. Applications are due June 4th and must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor.

The Saanich School District remains committed to wellness and the promotion of positive health in our schools and communities. These monthly snapshots are an invitation to learn together as we foster and promote positive health in our own lives, and the lives of those around us.  Please follow the link to access our April snapshot on Mental Health and Substance Use. 

The Parkland Track 2021 campaign has been officially launched.  You will notice posters in the school and around the community advertizing this campaign.  We hope to raise enough money by June of this year to replace the track over the summer.  Please spread the word about this exciting new project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE NOW button on the website for those interested in donating. We also have a Go Fund Me page. It will take a village to raise the money needed but we can do it!

Are you thinking about life after high school? Our District Indigenous Post-Secondary Liaison Shane Hartman is at Parkland every Tuesday from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Cultural room to answer questions and help you with your Post-Secondary needs. After School Math Tutorial Running Virtually!
Former Parkland Student and UVic math degree holder Chloe Hegland will be hosting extra-help sessions for math after school on Wednesdays from 2:15 to 3:30. Students will need their own device and Zoom account to join, but can do so from the comfort of their home. Drop in once you are home after school whenever you need help working through problems, require a mini review lesson, or want help studying for a test. The credentials to join are:
