Dear Parkland Parents and Guardians:

The Meet the Teacher Night at Parkland Secondary will be on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.   We will walk through our timetable so you can meet all your children’s teachers.  Our teachers will share information on their course, open up lines for communication and answer your questions on anything from homework to assessment.

Evening Schedule:

4:45 - 5:00 - Welcome and Sign in the Foyer

5:00 - 5:20 - Meet in Theatre - Welcome Message to All Parents

5:20 - 5:40 - Block 1 (5 minutes to travel between blocks, move on the bells)

5:40 - 6:00 - Block 2

6:00 - 6:20 - Block 3

6;20 - 6:40 - Block 4

6:40 - 7:00 - Out of Timetable Classes

We will be following Health and Safety protocols as well.  If possible we are asking you to let us know in advance if you will be attending.  Please email Carol Gribling at cgribling@saanichschools.ca . In the email include the names of the people in your household that will be attending and your phone number.   We will have a copy of your child’s timetable ready for you when you get here.

Please come in through the front doors into the Foyer.  We will have a desk set up with timetables and a sign-in area for drop-in visitors.  Everyone is required to wear a mask.

We realize that not all parents can make it on this date, but we would still like to meet you.  Below are some suggestions if you can not make it in to meet with your teacher this week:

1.  Email your child’s teacher to make an appointment to stop in before or after school and introduce yourself.  This will allow us to put a face to your name and open up the lines of communication.  This can be very quick and short, but very effective.  Email is the teacher’s first name initial plus their last name @saanichschools.ca.  eg. Kal Russell is krussell@saanichschools.ca

2.  Send us an email introducing yourself.  In our busy lives, this is often the easiest and most effective way to stay connected with us and your child's progress.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to connect with your child's teacher.   We look forward to meeting with you and working with you at Parkland Secondary School.

Sincerely,

Kal Russell                           Jason Earnshaw
