Congratulations to the following winners of the Sidney Literary Festival Writing Contest.

In the 13-15 year-old category:
First prize: Angela Chou
Honourable mentions: Emma Jackson and Sam Ogden.

In the 16-18 year-old category:
First prize: Nathanial Ritter
Honourable mentions: Kaitlin Jasmine Greaves and Deanalei O'Keefe.

The names of the honourable mentions will be announced at tonight's Gala at North Saanich Middle School, and the winners names will be announced Saturday night at the Mary Winspear.

Complimentary tickets for both evenings will be provided for students and their families. Please see Ms. Rioux after school today in Room 170 for tickets and more information. Once again, a huge congratulations to our talented Parkland writers!!

All students taking SAANICH SCHOOL BUS will be required to show their cards beginning Wednesday October 9. If you ordered a bus card, please be sure your card is picked up this week.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:
CONGRATULATIONS to Chloe Hegland for winning her second Cross Country race of the season! All the team members had great races at Beaver Lake on Wednesday, and would like to thank the Judo Academy runners who joined them! New members always welcome. Next practice is Monday after school at 3:15 p.m. On the track.

Congratulations to the Sr boys soccer team as they defeated Vic High 4-1. Parklands  goals were scored by Rean Jay. Chris Doxey and a pair by Malte Schnabel.
