MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

Halloween Dance tickets on sale TODAY – LAST DAY - Wednesday Oct 29 only.
Attendance will be checked for all students who have purchased tickets. Tickets: $5.

Guidelines for Halloween Costumes:
keep the dress code in mind
no full face masks--we need to see who you are
no weapon replicas (unless they really look fake)
Fireworks are forbidden in and around school--they are dangerous.

TOMORROW: THURSDAY OCTOBER 30 –MEMBERS OF MAYOR'S TASK FORCE – LUNCH at 11:45 in FOODS ROOM. Come at 11:30 to mingle! See Ms. McNamee to confirm.

All Parkland Students, Grades 9-12:  Reminder that visiting North Saanich Middle School during the hours of the school day (7:30am - 3:45pm) IS PROHIBITED!! North Saanich has a closed campus policy for its students. If visiting a teacher, please do so after 3:45pm.  We are asking that all Parkland students refrain from visiting NSMS unless with a Parkland school group/Parkland teacher given prior permission.  Thank you for your cooperation. KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS: Living homeless is a hard reality for some. Know how to knit, or want to learn? Join us Thursdays @ lunch, in RM 212. Help warm the homeless!

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:
Get your team registered for the Intramural European Handball league.  Get an entry form for the league.  There will be a junior division and a senior division.

Congratulations to Arianne Stevenson & Jarrod Harris for their excellent representation at the Vancouver Island Cross Country Championship. Arianne has qualified to represent Parkland at B.C.'s this Saturday at Westshore Rec Centre in Colwood. Her race starts at 10 a.m.   come out and cheer her on!

JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TRY-OUTS:  Thurs Oct 30 @ 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. ; and Friday Oct 31 @ 3 to 4:40 p.m. See Mr. Buckham if you cannot make the times above!

Beacon Youth Employment Program: Sara Lawton from YEP will visit Thurs Oct 30th @ 11:30 sharp - @ lunch only  in the Career Center. YEP is a community sponsored program – OFFERING training, work & volunteer opportunities for youth. Come and learn more on Thursday!

TEX Trades Exploration Program: Any students interested in a Trades Exploration Program please see Ms. McNamee ASAP . This 5 month program offered by the Saanich School District is a sampler of Welding, Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical.

JOB in the Health Care Field: Need two students, male and/or female who are friends, to help young man with learning challenges do projects for school & beyond.Perfect for Peer Helping students or student tutors! Please contact Ms. McNamee for details
