MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

Reminder to those grade 12 students who have not completed their GT package -- it is overdue.  Please submit this week before Friday if you want to get your grad package.  Grad Breakfast is this Friday morning at 7:45 followed by a very important Grad assembly.

(1) ATTENTION ALL GRADS: 103 OF OUR 2015 GRADS HAVE NOW QUALIFIED FOR THEIR GT INTERVIEW. This means that more than 60 students are not yet scheduled. You know who you are. Check out what you are missing, and get this paperwork handed in!
(2) GRADS: If you do not have everything in for the GT INTERVIEW, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR GRAD PACKAGE FRIDAY!
(3) GRADS: LIST OF GRAD STUDENTS HAS NOW CHANGED FROM HAVE TO HAVE NOTS: if your name is now posted on GRAD BOARD, you HAVE NOT YET QUALIFIED FOR YOUR GT INTERVIEW OR TO RECEIVE YOUR GRAD PACKAGE THIS FRIDAY. See office.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 8 - NATIONAL ANTI-BULLYING DAY!

CBC RADIO ALL POINTS WEST wants to hear from Parkland students - what will the island be like in 2050? What will have changed? What are your concerns for the future? What do you hope the workforce will look like? What will your neighbourhood and local transportation look like? Looking for video blog for CBC, three minutes. Deadline April 8. GRAD BREAKFAST: FRIDAY APRIL 10, FOLLOWED BY GRAD ASSEMBLY. All Grads should attend. Grad packages given out ONLY to those with GT packages in and SCHEDULED FOR GT INTERVIW.

Camosun is hosting a Comic Arts Conference on Saturday April 11 at Lansdowne campus. Admission is free.  It's a Who's Who event in the world of comics and graphic novels. Superheroes of Victoria will be there as live models for people to draw, and cosplay is encouraged. SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Track and Field: All Track and Field members must come to a meeting Wednesday at lunch.  Please come right after the bell.See events for Wednesday April 8th posted on Ms. Mac's Office door.

The first practice for the Ultimate team this year will be on Wednesday this week! Meet on the lower field after school with cleats if you have them. Girls and boys both welcome, no experience necessary. See Ms Wilson if you have questions.

OPEN GYM BADMINTON FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY ON FRIDAYS AFTER SCHOOL.

Congratulations to the Parkland Track and Field team: Another great day at UVIC  last Wednesday. Emma Dennis came in 2nd in Jr. Girls Javelin. Sayril Silaya was 2nd in Triple Jump & 2nd in 100m. Eric Alliston came in 2. in the 100 meetre Junor Boys. Ben Sammons came first in the 100 murdles, and Second in the 400 metres.
Conor McCullough, Lexi Flemming, Micheala Pennell & Arianne Steveson  also represented Parkland well. See Ms. McNamee to get involved!

Parkland Terry Fox Run takes place on April 13th at 9:00 & 2:00. PE classes in A and D block and any other interested students welcome to participate. Application forms for the Parkland Community scholarships now available from Mr. Choo.  These scholarships for achievement in non academic areas such as Judo, Carpentry, Musical Theatre or volunteer work have a deadline of Thursday April 30th.

Grade 12's: any online courses required to complete grad program must be done by April 15th, 2015. HAVE YOU STARTED YOUR ONLINE COURSE YET? See Mr. Choo.

Two Dave Gifford Memorial scholarships for athletes available, $700 each. Deadline is April 24th.

Two Zone scholarships for BCSS athletes available at $500 each. Application deadline is April 24th.

Educational Facility Managers Association of B.C. offering 4 $1000 bursaries. Deadline is April 30th.

LISA (The Lower Island Soccer Association)has 4 scholarships at $1000 each. Deadline: April 30th.

Two Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarships available at $500. Deadline is May 1st.

Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon and Rotaract present "Adventures in Technology”: a tour of Canada's research facilities & corporations for students interested in science, engineering or technology. Registration fee: $350 including food and social events, plus travel expenses to and from Saskatoon. Application deadline is May 14,.

Food Safe / Shoal Center: Date: Friday April 24 (Pro D Day) - Cost: $50. Registration Due: April 15th. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in food service, food retail, or food processing. When looking for a summer job, this is great for your resume.
