SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETINGS, EVENTS:

BAKE SALE TODAY AT LUNCH to raise money for fighting CANCER. See you there!


The Law 12 class had a fantastic day at the Law courts on Thursday observing cases and running a Mock Trial in Supreme Court. Thank you to all teaching staff for your support for this special all-day field trip!


ATTENTION ALL GRADS; MORE THAN 50 GRADS HAVE NOT YET RETURNED GRAD PACKAGES. Please turn these

in COMPLETED this week so plans can be made for your grad celebration!


Activist and environmentalist David Suzuki comes to Sidney’s Mary Winspear Centre on Saturday May 30th.  A limited number of complimentary tickets are available for students to pick up at Tanner’s Books before 9 p.m. on Friday night.  One ticket per student, and please bring student ID with you.


Any students interested in playing FOOTBALL this year, for Victoria Spartans, who may have missed this week's meeting, please come to front office for further information.


ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

There will be a special information session on Tuesday June 2nd at lunch time for Parkland international students planning to attend university in Ontario.  Tracy Li from VPEA will be leading the session.

 

ATTENTION ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

There is a Farewell Celebration and Dance  at Mary Winspear, Tuesday June 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Music, food and fun. Please see Mrs. Downs in the International office for your free ticket.


Shaking Up Shakespeare!
On Friday, June 5, enjoy a night of comedy  a spoof of the works of William Shakespeare in two fun plays.  "Drop Dead Juliet" and "The Incomplete Works of William Shakespeare" are hilarious!  Tickets available from Mrs. Wigbers in accounts office for $7.00 each, or at the door on the night of the play.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7:00 p.m.

YEAR END DANCE SHOWCASE coming up Thursday June 11 @ 7 p.m. Tickets $5 available at the front office, or @ the door.

Attention ALL Grads:

     - See GRAD NOTICE BOARD TO CHECK THAT ALL YOUR GRAD FORMS ARE NOW IN. If there is something missing from your package, see front office.

     - Grad Guests forms for dinner dance NOW available. Please note: quick turnaround required! Bond must be attached.

     - If you require transcripts for scholarship or entry applications, please be sure to give at least one day's notice

        for your request to front office.

SIDNEY LITERARY FESTIVAL STUDENT WRITING CONTEST: see notice board and library / learning commons for poster and submission deadline information. Prizes in each age category for the best two entries!

SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS AND COMPETITIONS: see Mr. Choo for further information

The deadline for the $500 Mike Fretwell scholarship and the two $250 Parkland Alumni Scholarship had been extended by one month to today and there are still no applicants.  Only Parkland graduates are eligible for these scholarships.  If you're interested, see Mr. Choo after lunch today for application forms.


There have been major changes to the application process for the Thrifty Foods/Camosun Foundation scholarship.   Instead of submitting your application to Mr. Choo, students must apply for the scholarship online through the Camosun College website. Deadline is August 15th.
