NOVEMBER 2 - 86 KICHIJO GIRLS FROM JAPAN VISIT PARKLAND - Thank you to
all student buddies and staff members for making our international
visitors welcome. Activities are organized throughout the day, so please
be sure
to extend a Parkland welcome to these visitors and their chaperones.
Any students who would like to read a poem or perform a number
for the Remembrance Day Assembly, please see Ms. Chicanot with your idea.
We are looking for 2 or 3 pieces for the assembly.
Parkland Contest:
Want to show off your creative side? We are holding a contest inviting students
to come up a strong visual design for our Community Open House invitation.
Samples of previous invitations are available for viewing in the office.
Submit your invitation to the office by Nov 30.
The winning invitation and prize will be announced in December.

If like to work with other creative people, Ms. Irving is looking to start a class to run from January to May 2016. All students, grades 9-12 are welcome to attend a meeting WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 4 at lunch time in the theatre.
Any new or returning International Students interested in attending the SISP Vancouver Trip, please pick up consent form from Ms. Jocelyne. Payment and forms due no later than November 5th!
YOUTH
FILM PROJECT TEAM: any youth who want to be involved in a collaborative
community team, and learn a new skill - this dynamic team works on film
projects in the community while learning to create, edit, and produce
short films.
No experience necessary. Team meets once a week, and
sometimes Saturdays. Apply to join by sending an email to
youth-stuff@saanich.ca, and let them know why you want to join the film
team.

Soldier for a Day program: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2015. Introduces the role of the Canadian Armed Forces - Army Reserve in Canada and internationally. Worth 5 hours work experience. Students grades 10 to 12 should see Ms McNamee for more info.

Lattitude Global Volunteering is an international youth development charity.
Its mission is to educate young people worldwide by providing inclusive opportunities to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Placements last 3-11 months. Classroom presentations will take place at Parkland November 20th, to English 11 and 12 classes. See CAREER CENTRE WINDOW for information, and see Ms. Mac if interested.
