FRIDAY NOVEMBER 20, 2015 - NOVEMBER IS HERE!


SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETINGS, EVENTS:

Students intending to take the Mandarin 12 challenge please note that it has been changed
from next Monday to TODAY, Friday, November 20 at 4 p.m.  All students are responsible for
their own transportation to SIDES and back home.  Remember to bring your $150 in cash,
debit or credit card.  Mandarin Challenge is held today at SIDES at 4 p.m.

ALL students registered in Psychology 12 and Law 12 next semester must get their applications
in by ASAP. Please make an appointment with Ms. Anderson to review your application if need be.

Do you like Pizza?  Do you like Libraries?  Well the Sidney Public Library is looking for input
from Parkland Teens to find out how they can make the Library better for the Teens. 
The event is on Wednesday November 25, 4—5:30 pm  Please register at the desk, by email
at sidney@virl.bc.ca, or by phone 250-656-0944  or come see Mr. Mueller in the Library.

If you want to be part of creating Sidney's new concrete skateboard facility at Tulista Park, learn more about this community project, and contribute ideas towards the facility's design and integration into the park, please attend a community workshop on Tuesday November 24, from 6 to 8 p.m/, at the Sidney Fire Department.

FREE TEEN FEST EVENT: November 28, 2015 at Pearkes Recreation Centre - Skateboarding, makeovers, free entertainment all day! Pick up entry tickets at school front office if interested.

catalogues have arrived in the Career Centre. Come and have a look!

Also: any 2016 GRADS applying for early admission, or for scholarships or bursaries, please give at least two days notice to the front office for obtaining copies of your current transcript.

International Winter Dance: This is a reminder to all International students, that the district winter dance
is on Wednesday, Dec 2nd at Stelly's, from 6 to 8 p.m.  There is no cost for this fun night
but you must sign up in advance with Ms. Jocelyne.  You don't want to miss this event!

Jr Boys Basketball:   Fri from 2:30-4 p.m.

Sr Girls Basketball:  Fri from 4-5:30 p.m.

North Saanich – Farm Labour- this job is for a student who grew up on a farm or
has experience working on a farm. If you qualify,  WORK IS: 8 to 16 hours every Friday and Saturday for 6 to 12 months.
Duties include; driving a bobcat, fence repairs, cross fencing, general cleanup and prep of land for a berry farm and orchard.
Must be at least 17 years old and have your N. This client is looking for a student with initiative, who can make decisions.
Pay will reflect your level of experience $11.00-$14.00/hour to start.

Costco is looking to hire mature and responsible students for the Holidays. Employees will be paid $12 per hour, mainly for shelf stocking duties. First shifts start on the 19th of December! See Ms. Mac for more details on how to apply!

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!
