SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETINGS, EVENTS:

Thank you Parkland community for your support for musical theatre!  Tickets for LEGALLY BLONDE have been selling fast, and we are excited about the positive response.  There is still room in the Wednesday and Thursday shows, but Friday and Saturday nights are filling up fast!  Get your ticket soon so you won't miss out on this fabulous show!  See Mrs. Wigbers in the office to buy yours today.

Deadline for spirit wear has been extended! Forms are now due on Tuesday Jan 19th- which gives you one more week to make a decision! Forms are available at the office for pick up now so come get yours, you don't want to miss out!

Congratulations to our Intramural Basketball winners! In the recreational division, Mr. Sutton's team won, and in the Competitive division, Ms. Beaucamp's team of Godwin, Brooke, Sayril and Lauren were the champs. This Thursday JANUARY 14  at Lunch, there will be a spirit basketball game with Godwin's team versus Constable Phipps and the RCMP Ballers. Donations for the food bank will be collected at the door. See you there!

SEMESTER TWO TIMETABLES FOR ANYONE WHO MISSED TAG - CAN BE PICKED UP AT BREAK, AT LUNCH OR AFTER SCHOOL FROM THE FRONT OFFICE.

Have you been thinking about trying yoga and aren't sure where to start? For the month of January, all interested students are welcome to drop in and try out the Yoga Before School class, Tuesdays and Thursday at 7 a.m. in the theatre. New students can register for second semester to earn 2 credits.


Call for nominations: COURAGE TO COME BACK AWARD - share the story of someone who has inspired you by overcoming adversity or illness, and gone on to help others. Nomination deadline: February 12, 2016 - @ couragetocomeback.ca, or email: courage@coastmentalhealth.com.

NATIONAL INDIGENOUS WRITING CONTEST: contest for Indigneous student writers to showcase their talents, and present their stories and retold legends. Rules and guidelines: see front office window, announcement boards,
and www.GoToInfo.ca/ThunderbirdStories. Prizes $2000, $1,000, and $500. Deadline: February 29, 2016.


ATTENTION ALL GRADS:  2016 GRAD TRANSITIONS BOOKLET is now available on the Parkland website for you to view, and work on. See: students / grad page / grad transitions. There are three buttons, or sections, to be completed.  FIRST READ INSTRUCTIONS carefully, and be sure to give full answers throughout. See Ms. McNamee to see a sample paper copy. Each 2016 GRAD must complete this booklet and hand it in before GT interview is scheduled in April. Button 4 will be loaded later, to show sample questions for your interview preparation, and schedule.

Grad students are reminded about the opportunity to sign up to be an organ donor.  Application forms at front office.

BAGEL BREAKFAST: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday mornings, before school, @ blue tables area.

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY from 3:15 to 4: 30 p.m.; FRIDAY from 1:50 to 3:10 p.m. In ROOM 103.
