ATTENTION ALL STAGECRAFT STUDENTS: The "Legally Blonde" set will be dismantled THIS THURSDAY FEBRUARY 18 after school from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Please come out and help Mr. Caddell. Pizza will be provided.

HANDBAGS FOR HOPE: please donate new and gently used HANDBAGS, JEWELLERY AND SCARVES to the office by THURSDAY Feb 18th.  Funds raised will be in Elise's honour and support Neuroblastoma Paediatric Cancer Research.  Ladies: it is time to clear out your closets for a good cause!

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24 - NATIONAL ANTI-BULLYING DAY - GET YOUR PINK ON!

Parkland is hosting our first ever Marine Career Fair on Thursday February 25th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Check out the posters around the school.  Students from our district as well as from Victoria and Saltspring will be visiting our school.  This is a high profile event with many businesses, employers, and training institutes in attendance.

Parkland will be having its annual Open House on Thursday February 25th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m..  Please encourage your friends and family to attend.  We will be featuring all of Parkland's amazing programs, serving chili and fried bread, and there will be a Spirit game in the gym at 6:30 pm.  This is an evening not to be missed!

NATIONAL INDIGENOUS WRITING CONTEST: contest for Indigneous student writers to showcase their talents, and present their stories and retold legends. Rules and guidelines: see front office window; Deadline: February 29, 2016.

ATTENTION ALL GRADS:  2016 GRAD TRANSITIONS BOOKLET is on the Parkland website. See: students / grad page / grad transitions. There are four buttons, or sections, to be completed.  READ INSTRUCTIONS carefully, and give full answers throughout. Each 2016 GRAD must complete BOOKLET AND 30 HR WORK EXPERIENCE and hand it in by the deadline of MARCH 11 - before GT interview will be scheduled in April. Sample questions for your interview preparation, and schedule TBA later.

This program is open to Canadian Youth aged 16-17 with basic ability in either French or English as a second language.

BRITISH COLUMBIA AVIATION MUSEUM: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 20 - 5th Annual Aviation Career Day - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Make the SKY YOUR LIMIT! Come and meet representatives from: Viking Air, Pacific Coastal Air, Nav Canada, Victoria Flying Club, CASARA and others. Also, meet some of the educators who are stepping stones into these career areas: UVIC, North Island College, Camosun, BCIT AEROSPACE, and local Air Cadet Squadrons.

MATH HELP CENTREThe Math Help Centre will be running this semester on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school until 4 p.m. Please come to room 105 for help with any math course that you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!
