LAW DAY MOCK TRIAL TEAM please meet in Mrs. Stelck's room at the beginning of lunch on Wednesday April 13 for some information regarding our last practice before the competition on Saturday.

Thrifty Foods Smile Cards now available at front office help the GRAD 2016 CLASS. Pick up card, and load at any Thrifty Foods store. Shop and use your Smile Card to pay - Thrifty donates 5% into our group account based on funds loaded from each member card - Grad Class of 2016 thanks Thrifty's, and all our supporters!

TOURISM AND EXPLORATION PROGRAM:
Do you… Love the outdoors? Want to travel the world? Be a leader? SD61 and West Coast Adventure College are partnering together to offer an amazing 8 -week program for students interested in exploring the Adventure Tourism Industry. TALE Tourism And Leadership Exploration Program ...provides students with a foundational knowledge in wilderness first aid, navigation, leadership and communication skills, risk management, trip planning and survival skills. Upon completion of the program, students will acquire 8 high school credits and an invaluable connection with a local tourism company through a 4 -week work experience placement.

UFCW & OFG JOINT DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP: Overwaitea Food Groups and UFCW Local 1518 offer ten scholarships valued at $1000 each to students who have played a significant role in diversity initiatives in their school and community. JOB TUTORING:

 Interested in being a Future Teacher  one day? Are you energetic, patient, and self motivated and willing to help a grade 2 Sidney Elementary student with their homework. Must be able to come to their home in Sidney 2 afternoons or evenings a week--90 minute sessions.  Snacks provided! Will pay $20 for 1 1/2 hours. See Ms. McNamee ASAP.


TRAINING AND COURSES COMING SOON! through YEP:  Food Safe, LEVEL 1 – April 22 - $50.00; from 9 to 5 p.m. - waitlist being taken now, @ Shoal Centre - bring your lunch. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retails, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated. Food Safe is required for many entry level foods jobs - have it on your resume!

Gardening Basics – May 1, 8 & 15 - 3 Sundays in a row. Free - Sign up now because space is limited. Taks place @ Sluggett House Garden, 1336 Marchant Road, Brentwood Bay. Great opportunity to learn about how to maintain a professional garden. Residents will be able to enjoy the gardens and harvest the crops through the summer. This course, taught by master gardeners, is designed to teach skills and prepare students to make some money working for local residents. Classes build your confidence by covering topics such as: soil preparation, planting seeds and plants, plant care, weeding, pruning, and safe use and care of tools.


Local Wood Work shop looking for 2 students interested in Wood Work and Painting. Job starts ASAP and would be evenings and weekends. If you are interested in a future in Joinery or Carpentry see Ms Mac ASAP about this great opportunity!


Fabulous opportunity for students interested in working full time this summer.Two positions available: Bus Person and Dish Washer.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!
