PARKLAND MARINE: Any students interested in: Boating Two, Beyond the PCOC course, the Saanich Peninsula Squadron is offering this course at Parkland Secondary School starting Tuesday October 4th at 7 p.m. Cost for Parkland students is $80. This year's theme: Global Unity - Social, Political and Economic Protection of Vulnerable Peoples. Please contact your Socials, English, Leadership, Councillors for further information and to arrange permission to attend this special conference.

It is a course to explore scholarships, early admission to universities and colleges, as well as explore passion projects around inquiry. If you are enrolled in this class already, or have questions about this class, come see Mr. Mueller in the Library. Hope to see you this Friday!

If you would like to be considered as an applicant sponsored by Parkland, the deadline for emailing your cover and reference letters to Ms. Chicanot and Mr. Choo is 3:00 pm on Friday, October 14th. Parkland performed well at the CRABFEST REGATTA at Elk Lake October 1 weekend. Parkland placed in every race entered, and came home with results as follows: 2nd place Senior Women's Double; 2nd place Senior Men's Double; 2nd place in Senior Women's Quad; 2nd fastest time of the day, 500 metre course for Senior Women's eight; Senior Novice Men's Eight placed third. Next regatta: October 15 and 16 at Elk Lake - come out and cheer on the Parkland teams!
Congratulations to the JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYVALL team, beating Stelly's in the final game to take 7th place - best ever finish in the Belmont home opener tournament. Parkland also won over Vic High and SMUS at this tournament. Good luck for Monday night versus Reynolds and Belmont!
