ALL STUDENTS: IF YOU HAVE NOT PICKED UP YOUR PHOTOS, RETAKES, STUDENT CARD OR BUS CARD, PLEASE DO SO @ break, lunch, or after school, from front office.

ATTENTION ALL GRADS : Please sign up with on-line booking, TO SCHEDULE your GRAD PHOTO. Photo trailer will be here at Parkland from November 17 to November 23 only. Go on-line @ LIFETOUCH and select Parkland. Book now  as schedule fills up fast!

MINDFULNESS GROUP is meeting on Monday's and Friday's at lunch in the upper conference room. Come and take a break from your busy day while learning techniques to calm your mind and body. All students and staff are welcome!


ATTENTION ALL 2017 GRADS:
Are you a grade 10, 11, or 12 student thinking about attending UBC?  A UBC advisor will be available at Parkland @ lunchtime on Wednesday, November 13 to tell you about their admission requirements, deadlines, and programs. A great opportunity to learn about the importance of grade 11 marks when applying to UBC.  Meeting in textiles room, room number 404 at lunch, Wednesday, Nov 16TH.

CAREER CENTRE, CAREER EVENTS, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTINGS:

ALL WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENTS WHO ENROLLED IN WEX, AND WORKED OVER SUMMER, PLEASE BRING COMPLETED PAPERWORK IN TO MS. MCNAMEE asap IN ORDER TO GAIN A FINAL MARK and CREDITS.  Remember grade 12 students - a minimum of 30 hours work experience is required in order to qualify for Grad Transitions.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES COMING UP:
1. NOVEMBER 18 - Observatory is hosting a volunteer information and appreciation evening on Friday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. with free pizza, refreshments, and the opportunity to meet and socialize with other volunteers, board members, and people generally interested in STEM careers and research. A great opportunity for students who are interested in science, and more particularly astronomy or astrophysics. See Ms. McNamee for more information.

2. NOVEMBER 25 -  SAINT PAUL'S CHURCH ANNUAL ADVENT FESTIVAL: November 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. - Volunteers needed to prep and serve international foods; set up and clean up; learn to use commercial dishwasher.

3. DECEMBER 3 - BREAKFAST WITH SANTA - MARY WINSPEAR CENTRE: 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. - share the excitement with young families by helping the Lions serve pancakes and sausage - breakfast provided to volunteers.

ABORIGINAL YOUTH CONFERENCE HOSTED BY VNFC: November 25 and 26 - aborignal speakers, prizes, games. See Ms. McNamee for further information.

NOTICE TO ALL STUDENT WORKERS:  September 15th,  BC Minimum Wage went from $10.45 to $10.85!!!!  Check your paycheque!


MUSIC REHEARSALS ALL YEAR:
JAZZ BAND - Monday and Wednesday; 7 a.m.;  CONCERT BAND - Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m.; CHOIR - Friday, 7 a.m. ALL REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE IN THE MUSIC ROOM.

BAGEL BREAKFAST:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings, before school, at the BLUE TABLES area.
