FRIDAY JANUARY 6 - GRAD PHOTO RETAKE DAY - by appointment only. Please go on-line with LIFETOUCH and book appointment.

MONDAY JANUARY 23 - EXAM WEEK STARTS!

ALL STUDENTS: PARKLAND SPIRIT WEAR is ON SALE! PICK UP Order forms available at front office counter. Cash, cheque or credit card accepted; samples on display! Put in your order, and we will fill it for you by the end of the day!

Any student wanting help with their English course work can go to the Learning Centre (room 204) at lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Staffed by retired English Teacher. Please see Ms. Chicanot with any questions.

CHESS CLUB meets on Fridays after school in Room 206 - improve your game and beat your friends! All new members welcome!

If you're a S.T.E.M. superstar and interested in a $80,000 or $100,000 scholarship, see Mr. Choo about the application process to  be selected as Parkland's nominee for the Schulich Leader STEM scholarship.  Deadline for applying to Parkland is Friday, January 20th so get your info from Mr. Choo and work on your application during the break. Past nominee's names can be seen on the Schulich plaque in the awards display case.

STAY TUNED FOR 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL INTRAMURAL SCHEDULE!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Senior Girls Basketball team - they played their first game of the season at PCS, and won 75 to 39. Lauren Fanelli lead the team in points, with Sarah Gibson and Jamie Cocu making big contributions in points, and Emma Dennis leading in rebounds. Great start to the season, Panthers!

CAREER CENTRE, CAREER EVENTS, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTINGS:

A local Pet Hospital will be looking for an employee for the summer to do:

* General Cleaning

* Assist Vet Tech

If you have any interest in being a Vet Tech or a Veterinarian this would be a fabulous summer job.

SUBMIT ORIGINAL "SAFETY AT WORK" VIDEO, AND WIN A CASH PRIZE: WorkSafe B.C. looking for creative video productions that explore the topic of speaking up for safety at work. Open to all students, grades 8 to 12. One video forwarded to national competition. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Tuesday March 28, 2017. MATH HELP CENTRE:
Monday and Wednesday after school: 3 to 4 p.m., Rm 201; and Thursday morning before school - 7:15 to 8:15 Rm 112.


ENGLISH HELP CENTRE:
The English Help Centre is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at lunch in the Learning Centre (room 204), staffed by a retired English teacher. Please see Ms. Chicanot if you have any questions about this.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL:
TUTORIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL - except Mondays - TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL, in the Learning Centre Room 204.

JAZZ BAND - Monday and Wednesday; 7 a.m.; CONCERT BAND - Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m.; CHOIR - Friday, 7 a.m. ALL REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE IN THE MUSIC ROOM.
