GENERAL:

 

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Come and enjoy Parkland's Concert Band, Jazz Band and Choir! The Christmas Concert will be taking place on Thursday, December 14th at 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Theatre.  Bring a donation for the food bank as admission!

PAJAMA DAY: Wednesday, December 20th is pajama day! We will be having a movie in the theatre at 2:15, after school. Admission is free and there will be a concession to purchase food & drinks. The movie will be The Grinch! All proceeds go to Santas Anonymous. Hope to see everyone there!


Only three more days to bring your shoeboxes to Ms. Rioux or Ms. Crawford for the I Love First Peoples Project! The shoeboxes will be delivered on Friday, so get yours in before then!


DONATE CHILDREN'S BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY!

Help support children's literacy by donating a used or new children's book this Christmas! Many children will not have any great books to read and we are hoping Parkland can help! Please consider donating a used or new children's book until Dec 22nd to help make this Christmas extra special for some young children around Sidney. See the donation box in the Library!


PARKLAND FOOD DRIVE: Last day is December 22 - Please bring non-perishable food items to your Block C class. Even better, you are welcome to bring money. Each dollar is worth three items as the food bank can purchase wholesale. Prizes will be given for top class in each grade and a prize will also go to the overall winning class. We will collect items on Tuesdays and Thursdays.


BUS STUDENTS: Notice to all students who have signed up to catch SD63 SCHOOL BUSES - BUS CARDS ARE NOW MANDATORY - come at break, at lunch or after school to pick up your bus card!


ALL STUDENTS: Remember - TALK TO SANTA CLAUS! SCHOOL CLOTHING AVAILABLE - place order at front office, and pick up later the same day! Also - CAFETERIA CARDS $25 - make that lunch time line-up easier!

CAREER CENTRE, CAREER EVENTS, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTING:


(1) 4 hours weekly - yard work on a 1 acre lot on Hawthorne Place. Pay is $15.00/hr. This employer is interested in supporting and training a student while the work is being done.

(2) 2 day job - January 13th and 14th - Help moving someone from a townhouse on Resthaven to a condo on Second Street. Pay is $15.00/hr.
