FIRST FRENCH CLUB MEETING - Friday October 5 during the SALMON BARBEQUE. French Club members will eat together in the courtyard, and play a few games. Crepe feast will take place at the next meeting! Come and join us - everyone welcome!


EXCITING NEWS - MS. ZEINDLER is starting a D & D club. If you want to learn how to  play Dungeons & Dragons, or just want a space to play, come to an information session at lunch on Friday October 5 in Room 108.

LEARN about various specialty programs in SD63; FIND OUT about dual credit, how students access post secondary opportunities and trades training while in high school; parent and student panels SHARE experiences; MEET reps from partner post-secondary institutions; EXPLORE career and education options for your children. ATTEND break-out sessions - talk to experts!

MEETING: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10: ANNOUNCING THE 2018 IMAGINING POSSIBILITIES CONFERENCE - Workshops & Exhibits for Young Women, ages 15 to 24, which takes place in November. Any interested female students please attend a planning meeting WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10, @ lunch, in the Career Centre. This is an all-day conference, with 50 exhibitors in the "Live Your Dreams" information area, including keynote speaker, workshop sessions, lunch, and  swag bags! Don't miss this amazing opportunity to attend presentations which will inspire and enlighten!


ANNOUNCING YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST: Want to see your original design as this year's cover on the Parkland Yearbook, and win a sweet prize? We want to see any creative 2D art (painting, drawing, photography, digital design, etc.) based on one of the following prompts:

NOVEMBER: CLAREMONT SECONDARY WILL BE HOSTING THE PSIBC  (POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS OF B.C. ) event on Thursday November 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meet advisors on application, registration, housing, scholarships and bursaries options. All SD 63 secondary students and families welcome!


PAC Volunteer Opportunities: Parents and Guardians - Volunteering is a great way to connect with the school, students and staff. And it’s lots of fun too : ) Help needed!

Spirit BBQ - Friday Oct 5 - approximately  10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Help with serving lunch to our students and staff - salmon and bannock!

Bagel Breakfasts - Monday, Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 7:45 - 8:30 a.m. Duties include: minimal set- up, collecting payment of 25 cents!, a quick tidy up.

(4) THRIFTY FOODS DELI - Evening and weekend shifts. Customer service and food prep. Apply in person - Thrifty's provides training.

(5) Chuck's Burger is looking for a dishwasher and a hostess.


VOLUNTEERING:

OKTOBERFEST SATURDAY OCTOBER 17 - 2 volunteers needed, from 4:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.; to show guests coat rack and their tables; serve water and coffee; clear tables. Dinner is free for volunteers! See Ms. McNamee for further details.
