ALL GRADS: IF YOU HAVE NOT BOOKED YOUR GRAD PHOTO APPOINTMENT, PLEASE DO SO IMMEDIATELY. There are some spaces available today, and Wednesday this week!


ALL JUNIOR GIRLS' BASKETBALL PLAYERS FROM LAST YEAR who have UNIFORM PIECES must return them to the front office ASAP! 


There will be a GRAD COMMITTEE MEETING at lunch TODAY Monday October 22nd, Foods room. See you there!


Save the date: the next YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB MEETING will be TOMORROW Tuesday October 23 @ lunch in room 109!


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: PIZZA LUNCH on Thursday October 25 in the theatre - everyone please attend!


On Monday October 29, Parkland will be hosting 85 Japanese students - KICHIJO GIRLS for the day. Musical theatre students will be the buddies. If any other Parkland student would like to be buddied up with two Japanese students for the day, please let Ms.Chicanot know.


Ms. Chicanot is looking for one or two more pieces for the Remembrance Day Assembly - FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2018.  If you are interested in doing a reading, or a short performance, please see Ms. Chicanot.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: VANCOUVER TRIP is scheduled for Thursday November 15th. See Ms. McRae in Counselling for an application. The deadline for applications is: next Thursday October 25th, so don't delay!


10TH ANNUAL SCREAMFEST @ CLAREMONT SECONDARY SCHOOL: THURSDAY OCTOBER 25, AND FRIDAY OCTOBER 26 - SPOOKY from  6 to 7 p.m.; SCARY from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  - $10 PER PERSON, OR $30 FOR FAMILY OF FOUR. TICKETS AVAILABLE AT PARKLAND ACCOUNTS OFFICE. Tickets can be redeemed for: Haunted Walk Midway, Games, and/ or Concession. FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2 - PARKLAND SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM versus PARKLAND ALUMNI - fundraising dinner and basketball game proceeds to be donated in assistance for the devastation in the Phillipines. Dinner @ 6 p.m., Game @ 7 p.m. Intermission raffle tickets and contests! Tickets $20 for FAMILY; $10 for INDIVIDUAL; from John Mark @ Parkland; potluck donations to dinner appreciated.

PARENTS AS CAREER COACHES: also Thursday November 15, @ STELLY'S SECONDARY SCHOOL, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Speaker Marion Haythorne leads workshop teaching parents how to help children make sound educational decisions. FILM CAN UNLEASH YOUR IMAGINATION: new competition presented by VICTORIA FILM FESTIVAL. For student film-makers, grades 9 to 12. Winning films will be screened at 2019 Victoria Film Festival. ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS AND GAMES ANNOUNCEMENTS:

PARKLAND SWIM TEAM competed at the Vancouver Island Regional Swim Meet this past weekend. A big shout-out to our 14 athletes who competed at the Island Regional Swim Meet, where they competed alongside 270 athletes from 31 schools! At this time, 5 of our swimmers have qualified for the Provincials: Brendon Cripps, Nick Lukie, Erik Rankin, Lucas Benson, and Kyla Kelly. Congrats to everyone for their hard work and good sportsmanship!

SHOAL CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR - NOVEMBER 17 FROM 10 A.M. TO 2 P.M. - serve coffee and cookies to patrons, work the YEP table wrapping gifts as a fundraiser. Four volunteers needed. This Craft Fair is really fun - see Ms. McNamee ASAP!

1. TUTORIALS IN LEARNING CENTRE, ROOM 204:  SUPERVISED TUTORIAL IS AVAILABLE daily after school, TO CATCH UP ON SCHOOL WORK, & TO DO MISSED TESTS.  note: Wednesday & Friday tutorials are best for longer tests & assignments.
