REMINDER: there is a leadership meeting today WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 28, at lunch in the theatre, and tomorrow THURSDAY NOVEMBER 29 at lunch in Room 108.


 

GRAD WINTER SEMI FORMAL DINNER / DANCE TICKETS for $40, AND GRAD LANYARDS for only $5 will be for sale at lunch in the front foyer today! Winter Wonderland Dinner/Dance is Thursday December 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. Get your tickets right away!


ROWING TEAM: There is a team photo being taken today,  Wednesday November 28, for all rowers in the gym right after school. there will be uniforms provided, but bring yours if you have not yet returned it.

HIGH TECH U - UX DAY SATURDAY DECEMBER 1 @ UVIC FROM 10 A.M. TO 4 P.M. - free admission to this RETHINK THINKING day for teachers, parents, and students to learn more about the great programs for youth interested in SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY available on southern Vancouver Island - at UVIC, and through other education focussed organizations.


CHRISTMAS CANNED FOOD DRIVE STARTS: Monday December 3, 2018. Bring in a donation! DONATIONS WILL BE COLLECTED IN BLOCK C CLASSES - PRIZES AWARDED FOR THE TOP CLASS! All donations will be given to the Sidney Lions Food Bank!


PARKLAND IS HOSTING THE CANADIAN COAST GUARD - THURSDAY DECEMBER 6 - special display at lunch; classroom visits in the afternoon. Information about the Coast Guard Officer Training program, in Marine Engineering and Marine Navigation. In joining this four year training program, the officer cadet receives tuition free education, as well as training allowance, free room and board, textbooks and uniforms, medical and dental coverage, and upon completion of the four year program - guaranteed employment with the Canadian Coast Guard. Students who excel in math and sciences, who are seeking adventure as well as opportunity to serve their country, are encouraged to apply for this challenging, exciting training and career program. (1) NEW OPPORTUNITIES AT SHOAL CENTRE - energetic students needed to help over many scheduled Christmas events: serving, clearing and dishwashing. Shifts 4 hours long, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; wages $17 per hour!  Food Safe and WHIMIS preferred.

(2)  NEW JOB POSTINGS: Ardmore; North Saanich; Sidney - garden work, raking, transplanting,  labourer for yard work, firewood, greenhouse, digging - $15 per hour, 2 to 3 hours per week. See Ms. McNamee for details.

1. TUTORIALS IN LEARNING CENTRE, ROOM 204:  SUPERVISED TUTORIAL IS AVAILABLE daily after school, TO CATCH UP ON SCHOOL WORK, & TO DO MISSED TESTS.  note: Wednesday & Friday tutorials are best for longer tests & assignments.

3. AFTER SCHOOL FRENCH has now been moved to Room 112, Wednesdays after school.

4. MATH & SCIENCE HELP CENTRE: Monday, Tuesday. Thursday from 3:15 to 4 p.m.; every second Wednesday, from 2:15 to 3 p.m., ROOM 201. Get help with any Math or Science course you are taking this semester!
