*** ALL GRADS: there is an important and mandatory GRAD ASSEMBLY on Thrusday November 28th at lunch in the theatre. Pizza will be served! All grads be sure to attend!


***ALL GRADS:  The Grad Winter Semi-Formal will be held on Thursday December 5 at the Capital City Yacht Club from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40, and will be on sale next week (November 25 to 29). If you want to bring a guest, gurest forms are available at the front office now, and need to be submitted by Friday November 29th.

Find out about sail and life training aboard a beautiful tall ship out of Victoria. Two choices of ship for ten day trips on the Pacific Grace and the Pacific Swift begin June 27th, through August 28, 2020. 


Parkland Swim Team members competed at the BCSS Provincial Championships this past weekend in Vancouver, which included 1200 athletes form 129 schools! Congratulations to Taise Bryce, 13th overall in the 50m breaststroke, and our relay team of Erik Rankin, Taise Bryce, Nele Scheifer, and Emilia Coccia who placed 16th overall in the 200 m Freestyle Relay. Great Job!


HONOUR ROLL: Certificates now available at front office for all students on Honour Roll. Check your name on posted list in front foyer. If you think you should be on the Honour Roll, but don't see your name on the list, please see Ms. Chicanot.

SIDNEY SPARKLES PARADE - SUNDAY DECEMBER 1 - time TBA - many volunteers needed to decorate Beacon Community Services truck for parade, and walk the parade. Meet at Shoal Centre, then walk the parade. See Ms. McNamee to sign up.


BRIDGE PLAYERS CHRISTMAS DINNER - WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 4 - 5 to 9 p.m. - annual dinner needs servers, serving and cleaning.


YEP RETAIL TRAINING: courses available in Brentwood Bay and Sidney starting in January. 4 Sundays, January 5 to 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash register, cash count, customer service, displays, inventory, pricing, opening and closing procedures. Great prep for new job!


TSUKINO-CON CONVENTION- takes place February 21 to 23, 2020 @ UVIC - get your name in to volunteer early! Annual anime, games, and Japanese culture convention, supports a variety of local charities. Registration, technicians, concession volunteers needed. See Ms. McNamee for volunteer registration, more information.

HIGH TECH U - for students interested in COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING. Develop a network with like-minded peers,  explore technology and how it can be used positively to impact our world. This year, SD 63 students can apply for Skills Academy and AUDIT the Dual Credit Course at UVIC! See Ms. MsNamee for details. DEADLINE: APPLICATIONS DUE DECEMBER 1, 2019.


INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FIRST RESPONDER? JDF FIRE / RESCUE CADET CAMP - spring break, March 16 to 21, 2020 - Metchosin. Basic elements of firefighting, search and rescue, medical response, technical rescue. Emphasis on team work, physical fitness, community service.
