***CHRISTMAS CAFE IS BACK! WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 18 - Hot chocolate and nutella crepes for sale in room 112. Come and enjoy holiday music, a hot drink, and a nutella crepe. Crepes are $2, hot chocolate is $1.50.


*** ALL STUDENTS:  FREE STUDENT COUPONS FOR VICTORIA ROYALS HOCKEY GAMES - Friday December 27 and Saturday December 28 - adult ticket must be purchased with this companion coupon; students must be 14 years of age or under. Pick up at front office. 


*** CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE ENVIRONMENT: Are you concerned about Climate Change & the environment? Do you want to take action? Ms. Chicanot would like to meet with interested students to set up a Parkland Climate Change Action Committee. If you are interested, please meet in the Textiles room on Thursday December 19th at lunch. There is also an opportunity to sit on the District of North Saanich's Climate Change commitee. Come out & find ways to make a difference!


ALL STUDENTS: are you interested in playing INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL? If so please get your team sign up sheet from Sutty in the PE office. Team registration is DUE DECEMBER 20!

***LAST WEEK OF FOOD DRIVE: PARKLAND CANNED FOOD DRIVE CONTINUES THIS WEEK, FOR SIDNEY LIONS FOOD BANK: until December 20. Donations of canned goods or cash can be brought to block C classes. Prizes will be awarded to the top class in each grade, and a Pizza lunch will be provided for the top class in the school! Let's give!


***PARKLAND CLOTHING DRIVE BIN at entry to front office - until December 20. Please bring in clean, useful and warm winter clothing in great shape! Thank you for your donations to our local community!

Parents of high school students - would you like to be able to help your student with career choices? Interactive workshop designed to give you  skills and confidence. $100,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship - an entrance scholarship, worth up to $100,000, for student studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Math. Deadline for applying to be considered as Parkland's nominee: Friday January 17, 2020.

$40,000 Cmolik Foundation Scholarship: Cmolik Foundation will provide up to $40,000 to a youth who has experience financial need and faced adversity in their life. Deadline for applying to be selected as Parkland's single nominee is Friday, January 31st. Please contact Mr. Choo for details. The application will take some time to complete, so don't procrastinate.

TSUKINO-CON CONVENTION- takes place February 21 to 23, 2020 @ UVIC - get your name in to volunteer early! Annual anime, games, and Japanese culture convention, supports a variety of local charities. TEAC 105 explores FOUR TECHNOLOGIES THROUGH HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES, PROJECT-BASED LEARNING - 3 hours per week; 13 weeks @ CAMOSUN, Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m., Limited seats. See Ms. McNamee if you are interested in: CIVIL ENGINEERING; MECHANICAL ENGINEERING; ELECTRONICS; COMPUTER SCIENCE!


INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FIRST RESPONDER? JDF FIRE / RESCUE CADET CAMP - spring break, March 16 to 21, 2020 - Metchosin. Basic elements of firefighting, search and rescue, medical response, technical rescue. Emphasis on team work, physical fitness, community service.
