Tonight we are hosting a virtual Grade 8 parent course selection info night. Please join us.

The Duke of Edinburgh Program is an internationally recognized award that promotes excellence in young people, through the pursuit of interests and giving back to the community. The DoE Award gives youth an opportunity to progress outside their comfort zone, and gain leadership experience. The Award looks amazing on resumes and job applications, as well as giving the recipient up to six high school credits. It also provides the recipients a sense of accomplishment and pride. If you are interested in this program, please see Ms. Gribling in the office.

Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

The PAC Breakfast Program will be Thursday's and Friday's 7:45-8:20.  Baked goods and juice boxes available.  .25 cents per item.

Girls Soccer at Parkland is going to do a slow start up in preparation for the season start in mid-March! If you a grade 9-12 girl who would like to play on the school team, please attend our first two try-outs, today and 22nd after school in the gym from 3:30-4:30. Players of all abilities welcome! Bring runners as we will scrimmage inside until the field dries up!  If you would like to play and cannot make these try-outs, please see Ms. Dibblee in the gym asap to sign up. 


CAREER CENTRE:

NEW DAY** UBC’s Faculty of Medicine, the Medical Student Outreach Ambassador Program, will present virtually February 24th at lunch in the Learning Commons.  If you are thinking of working in the medical profession, then check out this amazing opportunity. See Ms.McNamee or Mrs.Beaucamp in the Career Centre to get your name on the list. 

Do you like being on the ocean?  Camcor Diving Services are a local commercial dive company looking to give young locals an opportunity to have an adventurous career on the water.  If you are interested in more information come and see Ms. Mac in the Career Centre.

Camosun Virtual Info Night - Wed, February 23: 3:00 - 7:30pm. This event will feature information sessions from a wide variety of departments, services and support teams across Camosun. SIP will be presenting from 4 - 4:30pm. 

Are you interested in Technology and Engineering??  Curious about Mechanical, Civil, Computer and Electronic engineering? This is the DUAL CREDIT course for you! Happens on 13 Friday afternoons from 3-6 pm at Camosun Interurban. Best part...tuition is FREE, counts for credits, can do in grade 10-12,  and all hands on!! But you need to plan now, and see Ms. Mac soon!!

SKILLS CANADA - Let's showcase our Parkland Talent - Secondary Students (grades 9 - 12) can learn, compete, and showcase their skills in trades, Public Speaking, Photography, internet design, graphic design, work safety, job skills and so much more!! . Competitions will be hosted online, at their local high school, or at Camosun Interurban campus. See Ms. McNamee if you are interested!!!!

Join BC Children's Hospital Research Institute for a day of presentations and hands-on activities that explore the newest discoveries and innovations in health research. At Mini Med School, you’ll have the opportunity to: • Engage with world-class researchers and health professionals • Learn about the latest medical research happening in BC • Explore the diverse careers available in science and medicine • Network with like-minded students from across Vancouver Island.
