Today is early dismissal 2:00, Wed/Fri schedule. Teachers will be contacting parents of students that need extra support in their class. This date was rescheduled from February 17 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Sidney Lawn Bowling Club is inviting students to attend an introduction weekend. April 23 & 24.

Ministry of Education Survey - The Student Learning Survey (SLS) has been administered every year in B.C. public schools since 2001. Prior to 2016-17 it was known as the Student Satisfaction Survey. The SLS provides feedback on the implementation of the curriculum changes, learning environment, student wellness and satisfaction, student belonging and engagement, and career preparation. The parent and guardian/caregiver survey is now available online and is available in 18 different languages.

Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

The PAC Breakfast Program will be Thursday's and Friday's 7:45-8:20.  Baked goods and juice boxes available.  .25 cents per item.

ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS AND GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Intramural Soccer will start up next week.  Get you team registration into Mr. Sutton in the PE office by Monday April 11th if you want to play soccer at lunch.  If you need a team registration form, come to the PE office to get it.

KidSport Greater Victoria is a local organization that exists to help families in need access organized sport opportunities for their children. To be eligible for up to $600 per year in registration fee support, children must be 18 years or under, families must be within financial eligibility limits, and season must be at least 8 weeks long with an eligible sport organization.  For more information, a list of eligible local sport organizations, and to apply, visit www.kidsportvictoria.ca.

Summer Carpentry Apprenticeships - Are you in grade 11 or 12!  Want to work in the Carpentry Trade?  The BC Carpenters Union is hiring grade 11 and 12 student to work at apprentices this summer!! Youth employment is the future. Our mission is to provide high school students with the opportunity to get experience in the construction industry working hands on as material handlers for our reputable contractors. Tools are provided for our Plan A members as well as safety equipment. They gain experience, safety certifications and training, high school credits for graduation, eligibility for grants, and the ability to find a passion for a new career path. Paid is $19 per hour. DUAL CREDIT - Fabulous Dual Credit COURSE opportunity for students interested in in careers in Nursing, Mental Health and Addiction Counselling, Early Learning Care, and Community, Family and Child Studies. ELC 130-Early Childhood Profession Health 111- Indigenous Peoples Health.  Both of these courses will be offered on Friday after school, Sept 9-Dec 9,  3:30-6:30 at Camosun and they are FREE...we even cover the textbooks! Community Support and Educational Assistant Dual Credit Career Program in Partnership with VIU Starts February 2023 If you are in grade 11, and are thinking of a career in Education or Community Support this is the program for YOU!!  You could be a certified EA by August 2023!

Do you want to work in the trades industry?  The Federal Government (Fleet Maintenance Facility) is accepting applications for jobs in a variety of trades as part of the Federal Student Work Experience Program 2022. A great opportunity which could lead to a lifelong career!  See Ms. Mac for more information on applying. 

The Sidney BIA has partnered with Beacon Community Services to present the Sidney Employment Expo, in-person on May 19th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Mary Winspear Centre.  This free event is a great opportunity for grade 11 and 12 students interested in getting a job.
