Leadership students are holding their social responsibility project and raising money for the Parkland track by getting students to vote with money on which teachers they’d like to see wear a silly costume on May 19th. Come to the front foyer at break and lunch to cast your vote. 

Congratulations to our Parkland Sailing team for placing 1st and 7th overall at the Discovery Cup regatta this weekend in Victoria.  There were a lot of close races and great winds which made for an exciting day on the water.  Way to go team!!

Parkland is participating in the BC Children's Hospital Jean's Up campaign. May 19 is Spirit Day and we are asking everyone to wear their jean's and Parkland hoodie or tshirt. Thanks for showing your support.

Saanich International Student Program (SISP) is actively looking for new Host Families for our international students joining us at the end of August 2022. Make lifelong friendships, provide a student with a home away from home and share the beauty of your community!  If you are interested in this opportunity, host families are provided:
·      $975 per month per student (students must have their own bedroom)
·      Ongoing support from the SISP Homestay team
·      International students who are fully vaccinated

School Bus registration is now open for the 2022/23 School Year. Registration open until June 15.

The Parkland Track campaign is still running.  Work on the new track has started but we are still in need of raising funds to resurface it. Please spread the word about this exciting community project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE TODAY button at the top for those interested in donating. It will take a village to raise the money needed but we can do it! Thank you for your support of our community project.

Youth Health Clinic is every Thursday night 5:30-7:30 @ Shoreline Medical Clinic.

The PAC Breakfast Program will be Thursday's and Friday's 7:45-8:20.  Baked goods and juice boxes available.  .25 cents per item.

Congratulations to the fabulous Parkland Track and Field team. It was a great day at the City Finals for our athletes!!  Marie Meyer-Piton ran a PB in winning the 1500 m Steeple chase with a time of 5 min 32 seconds. Jackson Murray was 1st place in the Sr. Men Race Walk. Sophie Weber was 2nd  in the  Sr. Women Race Walk. Jule Meiner was 3rd in the race walk and 5th in the 800 m. Clara Negrea Puskas was 5th in the Jr. Girls Race Walk. Our Relay teams had an outstanding day, our Sr. Girls 4X400 team was 2nd in the City for the Sr. Girls- Melia Strosher, Carys Laggard, Hannah Arychuk and Jule ran an amazing race and the 4X100 Sr. Girls team- Melia, Carys, Marie and Hannah, came in 5th in the city!  To place top 8 in the City is a fabulous accomplishment!!  Bravo to our small but mighty team! Good luck to our athletes at the Island next week!

SWPS – Saanich Water Polo School - is inviting High School kids into the High School Water Polo Program this Spring. With many high school aged kids looking at potential lifeguarding positions, this is a  great program to increase their strength and stamina in a really fun way, and give them the edge they need.

KidSport Greater Victoria is a local organization that exists to help families in need access organized sport opportunities for their children. To be eligible for up to $600 per year in registration fee support, children must be 18 years or under, families must be within financial eligibility limits, and season must be at least 8 weeks long with an eligible sport organization.  For more information, a list of eligible local sport organizations, and to apply, visit www.kidsportvictoria.ca.
