INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: DEADLINE TO REGISTER for the Whistler Winter Trip is this Friday, October 4. Space is limited as six schools are participating. Bring your completed forms and payment to Mrs. Downs in the International Office.

Any Parkland Rowers who may have gear to claim from the weekend Regatta, please come to front office to pick up.

WRITING CONTEST. for age 16 to 18.Topics : Conflicts; Relationships; Divided Loyalties; Song or Ode to Sidney. Or Choose Your Own Topic! Prizes include gift certificates to Tanners, 3rd Street Cafe & Toast! See Ms. Rioux in Room 170 after school for more info. Submit ORIGINAL WORK entries to Ms. Rioux at Parkland.

Lovers of literature! Closet poets & outspoken authors! Sidney Literary Festival is coming! Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th - be a part of some incredible workshops with published authors, & attend inspiring public readings.

BAGEL BREAKFAST: MORNING BAGELS & JUICE Tuesday & Thursday each week, upper mezzanine, near the blue tables, each item 25 cents each.

AFTER SCHOOL LEARNING SUPPORT: Wednesday and Friday, Room 115, after school.

REMINDER: AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC TUTORIAL every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, in the Learning Commons.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:
"In spite of monsoon type weather on Sunday, Parkland rowers performed very well at the annual Crabfest regatta at Elk Lake.  12 high schools from Victoria competed in this regatta so there was a lot of competition in every category.  The junior novice rowers did really well, and earned a 2nd place finish in the men's quad for the 500 meter sprint.  The advanced crews rowed a 2 kilometre timed head race and Parkland earned a 1st place finish in the men's quad and a 3rd place finish in the women's 8.  Congratulations to all the rowers! "
