Attention all International Students: The Whistler Ski trip is filling up fast, please get your registration in this week to avoid being disappointed.

Interested in Track & Field? Parkland Track and Field team will be holding their first meeting this Thursday Feb 27 @ lunch in Room 210.  New or experienced athletes are welcome. Track & Field has an event for everyone, so come to the meeting and check it out.

UVic will have an advisor available at Parkland on Thursday, February 27th from 9:30 to 11:30. Appointment sheet is now available on Mr. Choo's door for you to sign up.. 

Thursday February 27th Parkland hosting 3rd Annual Open House. Entire families are encouraged to attend: many activities for younger students including the huge inflatable obstacle course from Panorama. Please encourage your family, friends and neighbours to come, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.!

 Jr. Boys Basketball Update:
Good luck to our Jr Boys Basketball team who qualified to play in the first round of the Lower Island playoffs starting today at Spencer Middle school at 5:45pm!  The boys have practiced long and hard this season to get to this point, and with any luck they can continue their winning ways: GO PANTHERS!!

Junior Girls Basketball Championships start TODAY at St. Margarets School . Game time for our Junior Girls is 4:15 pm. Our Grade 9’s from the Senior Team will join the team today. Good luck Junior Girls!

The Senior Girls Basketball Team lost their first game on Thursday Feb. 20, 2014 to the Ballenas Whalers who are ranked #1 and seeded #3 for the Island.  Final score 72 to 41. Top scorers: Breanna Clooney  was MVP of the game with 10 points, Katie Isfeld 8 pts & Arianne Stevenson 6 pts. The team consisted of one Grade 12 player, one Grade 10 player and the remainder being Grade 9’s all played an exceptional  game with every player getting points and trailing by just 4 points at the half.
 
Their 2nd game  Friday Feb 21, 2014, was against Lambrick who won 91 to 78, after the teams were tied 50 to 50 at the half. Top scorers were Arianne Stevenson who was also MVP of the game with 24 points, Kristy Gallagher 17 pts & Emma Dennis 14 pts. This was an emotional last game for the team who say goodbye to their two incredible Grade 12 players coming into next season.
