HALLOWEEN DANCE TICKETS FOR SALE TODAY IN FRONT FOYER - $5 EACH!
Dance THURSDAY OCTOBER 30, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Students will be coming around to
classes Tuesday and Wednesday this week to promote this great event!

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 22 – FIRST NATIONS LUNCH – rescheduled from last week!

Attention all International Students: Important International meeting in the theatre
on Wednesday, October 22nd. at lunch. Please attend.

Ms. Chicanot is looking for two MCs for Remembrance Day assembly. Also room for
one more creative piece, poem or song. Please see Ms. Chicanot if interested.
ANY STUDENTS WITH WORK EXPERIENCE ON THEIR TIMETABLE WHO HAVE NOT YET
MET WITH MS. MCNAMEE MUST DO SO TODAY! Please go to Career Centre at break
or lunch today to touch base!

Any students interested in taking part in BC Hydro Energy Ambassador Program, see
Ms. Dibblee to sign up before Thursday Oct 23. Work with students from Parkland & our
district on energy conservation & education issues.

Reminder of an extra choir rehersal at lunch today in the band room

Reminder to all international students of the important meeting today at lunch in the
theatre.

Peninsula Players in Sidney will be show casing their production of Agatha Christie's
THE MOUSETRAP, Saturday November 1 and Sunday November 2 at the Charlie White
Theatre in Sidney. The company is looiking for students from Parkland who are
interested in helping actors with costuming, hair and makeup. For the evening shows,
you will be needed from 6pm – 8:30pm and for the matinee from 1pm-2:30pm. If this
sounds like something you would like to get involved with, you can call or text Mr Glen
Brown @ 778-677-3876. Students will earn volunteer credits. They are also looking for
volunteers for their Christmas show in December so get in touch with Glen today!

Parkland Secondary, are you ready to "DROP EVERYTHING AND READ?" As a whole
school, we are going to be dropping everything & reading together for the last 15 mins
of B Block on Monday, Oct 27th. Please, bring your Favourite book of all time to school
on Monday morning, Oct 27th and share your favourite book with the rest of the school.

REGISTRATION FOR TIMES COLONIST 10K, Half Marathon, & 1.5 K Kids run now open
Parkland Pant'ers team is set up; save the date April 26, 2015. See new TC10K
website and on-line registration!

KNITTING FOR THE HOMELESS: Living homeless, especially during the winter months, is
a hard reality for some. If you know how to knot, or are willing to learn, join us
Thursdays @ lunch, in room 212, and help warm the homeless!
Arts in the Schools Fundraiser Parkland School Concert and Jazz Bands are proud to
participate in the 2nd Annual ArtSea Festival Gala Concert - Friday, Oct 24th at 7 p.m.
in Charlie White Theatre in Sidney. Proceeds help support music & arts education in
School District 63. Tickets: Mary Winspear Centre Box Office @ 250-656-0275 or online
at www.marywinspear.ca. Ticket price of $15 includes light refreshments.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 25 – PUMPKINS ON THE PIER – Parkland musicians playing!

THE VARIETY SHOW: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1, 5 P.M. local talent, dinner , music and
magaic show to raise funds to send volunteers to build houses in Dominican Republic.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:
The SENIOR BOYS SOCCER TEAM lost their game last night against Stelly's
despite two goals being scored by Chris Doxey.

GIRLS OPEN TRY-OUT FOR BASKETBALL: Wednesday Oct 22 from 5:30 to
7:00 & Friday Oct 24 from 3 to 4:30. Anyone interested in playing must attend.

SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL WILL HAVE THEIR FINAL TRY OUT SESSION on
Thursday October 23 at 7 p.m. No shooting practice on Friday after school.
