Andrea Paquette was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in her mid-20’s. At first she was shy to tell others of her mental illness, but then she realized she had an opportunity to end stigma for this illness, which affects more than 2.5 percent of Canadians. Paquette officially launched the Bipolar Babe project in May 2009, and now shares her story of coping and thriving with her illness with students across Vancouver Island. Veronica Cooper attended one of her presentations to high school students in Sidney, BC.
