Teen Volunteers Needed at the Public Library

Volunteers ages 13-18 are needed to help kids practice their reading in the Reading Buddies program and to help adults with new technologies in the Tech Buddies program. French-speaking teens are also needed for French Reading Buddies. See gvpl.ca/teenvolunteers for full details.

Tween Volunteers Needed at the Public Library

GVPL Teen Slam Poetry Team

For ages 13-18. If your school doesn’t have a slam poetry team, join the library’s team! Past City of Victoria Youth Poet Laureate Morgan Purvis will facilitate weekly workshops and you can participate in the Victoria Voices High School Slam Championships (or cheer on our team from the audience!).

Teen Writing Contest

For Grades 7-12. Enter your original poem, short story, or something else in our “random” category! Create something new or polish up something written for a school assignment.
