PARKLAND SPIRIT GAME!Be there...

During the seismic upgrade, the inner courtyard will be redesigned. If any students would like to have input into the design of the courtyard, please see Ms. Chicanot or come to a meeting in the office after school on Wednesday January 28th.

ALL GRADS: grads need to complete their Grad Transition Plan by March 6th!  Ms. Hackman will be in the career centre during exam week on Thursday from 12 to 2 and Friday from 10 to noon if you need assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: CAFETERIA IS OPEN ALL OF THIS WEEK, BUT IS CLOSED ALL OF EXAM WEEK. Students and staff be sure to bring your own snacks and lunches!

Grade 11s: Would you like to go to New York for two weeks this July? Victoria Odd Fellows accepting applications from students for a speech-off in February. Application deadline: January 31. Please see Ms. Anderson for more info.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Congratulations to the Senior Boys Baskeball team for placing third at the McRoberts Tournament this past weekend. The following players received "Player Of The Game" awards: Harrison Archdekin, Bryce Isfeld and Russell Bennett. As well, Harrison Archdekin was named to the "All-Star" team. Please come out and show your support at the spirit game tonight Tuesday January 27.

Jr Boys Basketball Team Places 4th at Vanier Tourney in Courtenay
A big congrats goes out to all members of our Junior Boys Basketball Team for their tremendous effort this past weekend at the GP Vanier Jr Boys Basketball Tourney in Courtenay! The boys had two big wins versus Timberline and Argyle, and narrowly missed beating the eventual winners of the tournament in their opening game; Player of the Game Awards were given to Jared Serdenia, Michael Dela Rosa , and Cameron Harvey. Overall the boys really came together as a team and showcased some impressive team play.  Way to go gents, Parkland is proud of you!

SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS & COMPETITIONS: see MR. CHOO
Any students of any grade planning to major in Psychology at UVic should speak with Mr. Choo about some little known math requirements.

Any grade 12s planning to apply for the UVic Gustavson School of Business should speak with Mr. Choo immediately about the supplemental application.

Students related to BCGEU members can apply for a $3000 scholarship for post-secondary full time, & $2000 for part-time studies.  Deadline: Friday, Feb 27th.  Ask Mr. Choo for details.

Royal Bank  Aboriginal Students scholarships worth up to $4000 per academic year for students that are status, non-status, Inuit or Metis.  Deadline: February 28th. See Mr. Choo.

Grade 12s: any online courses required to complete your grad program must be done by April 15th, 2015. Please meet with Mr. Choo if uncertain of your grad status.

GOTTACON is being held on Friday February 27th this year at the Victoria Convention Centre. This is a great opportunity for students interested in careers related to computer gaming. Mark this date on your calendar!
