MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

Help us welcome new international students for semester 2. Volunteers wanted for an orientation on Tuesday, Feb 3 from 9 to 11:30. Please see Ms. Anderson in the counselling office if you can help out.

Attention all INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Whistler Spring ski trip is coming up fast. Deadline for applications: next Monday, Feb 2, 2015.

EXAM WEEK: Looking for a place to keep calm, and relax before exams? Quiet room will be available in Mr. Tudela's room (210) from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. ,and 12:15 p.m.  to 12:45 p.m., with an activity running at 8:30 and 12:30. Not sure if the quiet room is for you? There will also be a sampler table set up in the learning commons.

Thanks to all the Parkland supporters for turning a basketball game into a Spirit Event Tuesday night! The stands were full, the SR Boys beat Stelly's by a substantial number of points , the elementary half time game was so cute, the band was great, and Parkland Pride was super strong. Way to go!!

ALL PARKLAND GIRLS: Are you interested in Rugby? Please come out to a very important meeting: Friday Jan 30 @ lunch, Rm 113.

ALL GRADS: grads need to complete their Grad Transition Plan by March 6th!  Ms. Hackman will be in the career centre during exam week : Thursday from 12 to 2 and Friday from 10 to noon, if you need assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: CAFETERIA IS THIS WEEK, BUT IS CLOSED ALL OF EXAM WEEK. Students and staff be sure to bring your own snacks and lunches!

Notice to all past woodworking students: Mr. Caddell will be recycling any old unclaimed projects during exam week.  Please claim any old projects ASAP!

Grade 11s: Would you like to go to New York for two weeks this July? Victoria Odd Fellows accepting applications from students for a speech-off in February. Application deadline: January 31. Please see Ms. Anderson for more info.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

The JR Girls Basketball Team won their game against Claremont last evening 50-42! It was a great Team effort at home court with Claremont trailing the entire game!  

Giant congratulations to the Senior Boys Basketball team for their win Tuesday night over Stelly's at the Parkland Spirit Game event! Big thanks also to all those students who showed up to support your team! And special thanks to the Junior Boys Basketball team, and Mr. Buckham, for their assistance and support!

SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS & COMPETITIONS: see MR. CHOO
Any students of any grade planning to major in Psychology at UVic should speak with Mr. Choo about some little known math requirements.

Any grade 12s planning to apply for the UVic Gustavson School of Business should speak with Mr. Choo immediately about the supplemental application.

Students related to BCGEU members can apply for a $3000 scholarship for post-secondary full time, & $2000 for part-time studies.  Deadline: Friday, Feb 27th.  Ask Mr. Choo for details.

Royal Bank  Aboriginal Students scholarships worth up to $4000 per academic year for students that are status, non-status, Inuit or Metis.  Deadline: February 28th. See Mr. Choo.

Grade 12s: any online courses required to complete your grad program must be done by April 15th, 2015. HAVE YOU STARTED YOUR ONLINE COURSE YET? Please meet with Mr. Choo immediately to check your grad status.
