MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

Grade 10 students who wrote English 10 Provincial exam in February can now check their exam results online. If assistance is needed, please see one of the counsellors.

It is Panther Cup time!  This Friday the SENIOR boys hockey academy students take on the teachers at Panorama.  The game goes from 2 to 4:00 p.m. If you would like a ride to the game, permission forms will be available from your D block teachers on Wednesday and Thursday. Signed permission forms will allow you to leave class at 1:30 on Friday & board the bus to Panorama.  You will need to find your own way home after the game.  We have ordered three buses to take students to the game.  First come, first served!

Come out & cheer for the PARKLAND Hockey Academy students as they take on the teachers in this year's Panther Cup. The SENIORS take to the ice this Friday,  while the JUNIORS play the following Tuesday March 31 @ 3:30 TO 5 P.M..

Leadership 9-12 course applications for next year are available from front office. Please see Ms. Chicanot if you have any questions.

District of North Saanich celebrates its 50th anniversary in August, & is sponsoring two contests:  Time Capsule & Art in the Park.  If you have an item for the time capsule see Ms. Chicanot--deadline: June 15th. PLEASE SEE POSTERS ON ROLLING BULLETIN BOARDS FOR TIME CAPSULE SPECIFICATIONS. Art in the Park IDEAS deadline: April 25th. See Mr. Gogol for more art in the park info.

LOCAL FUNDRAISER "Bowl for Kids Sake” - Register a team and help Big Brothers Big Sisters raise funds to match children in our community with mentors. April 12 at Miracle Lanes in Sidney. See front foyer announcement board for full details.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Reminder to the Sr.  Girls Soccer team of practice Tues and Thurs this week at 3:30 at Blue Heron.

Track and Field team: All students on, and interested in, Parkland Panthers Track team need to attend a very important meeting Wednesday March 25 @ lunch in the Career Center. See Mr Kirk or Ms. McNamee if you cannot attend. First meet is this Wednesday at UVIC for Hurdlers, 3000 m race walk, 800m, 200m, 3000m, Girls Triple Jump, Boys Javelin, Boys High Jump, Boys Discus, Girls Javelin, Girls Shot Put.

NOTE TO ALL STUDENTS: open gym volleyball this Weds and Thursday after school.

Thomas Bennett , Theo DuQuesnay , Colin Bishop and Chad White all participated in Patos Island sailboat race last weekend. Thomas Bennett aboard Westerly 70' Santacruz was 1st across , 1st in div 1 and 2nd overall. Colin Bishop aboard Por Favor was 2nd in Division and 5 th overall. Chad White aboard Gladiator 2nd in division and 6th overall.  Theo Dequesnay aboard Bodacious came in 9th in the day course. Congratulations to all the participants!

March 31st is deadline to register as part of the Parkland Pant'ers TC 10K or Half Marathon team. Staff & students can register online at www.tc10k.ca. Please see Ms. Dibblee for more info.

We are doing our Parkland Terry Fox Run on April 13th at 9:00 & 2:00. PE classes in A and D block and any other interested students will be able to participate. Two Dave Gifford Memorial scholarships for athletes available, $700 each. Deadline is April 24th.

Two Zone scholarships for BCSS athletes available at $500 each. Application deadline is April 24th.

Educational Facility Managers Association of B.C. offering 4 $1000 bursaries. Deadline is April 30th.

LISA (The Lower Island Soccer Association)has 4 scholarships at $1000 each. Deadline: April 30th.

Two Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarships available at $500. Deadline is May 1st.

The Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon and Rotaract present "Adventures in Technology”: a tour of Canada's research facilities & finest corporations for students interested in a career in science, engineering or technology. Registration fee: $350 including food and social events, plus travel expenses to and from Saskatoon. Application deadline is May 14,.
