In an effort to kick off Emergency Preparedness Week (May 3 - 10) Juan de Fuca Seniors Centre is hosting their 8th Annual Regional Emergency Preparedness display in the JDF parking lot on Sunday, 3 May 2014, 11 am - 3 pm. There will be displays inside the JDF Seniors Centre as well as outside in the parking lot across from it.
The indoor displays will include Emergency Supplies and Services Vendors, ESS Red Cross, Westshore Parks and Rec, activities for children and brief seminars on various safety and preparedness subjects for the adults.
Fire Apparatus, police and ambulance vehicles, large equipment such as DND Bomb Squad truck and other unique displays will be displayed outside in the parking lot. There is also bouncy castles and other interactive displays s such as the Tom Thumb Safety Village that children will enjoy.
The purpose is to showcase the cooperation and support of our ESS teams, emergency programs and emergency services in the region and to get the message out to our communities regarding the importance of emergency preparedness and public safety.
