The Marine Science/PE 10 class recently went on an overnight canoeing and camping trip to Bamberton Provincial Park. On the first day of the trip, the class paddled from Brentwood Bay to the park and participated in an beach seine where they got to learn about eel grass ecosystems while identifying numerous fish and invertebrate species. The next day, they paddled to Gowlland Tod Provincial Park for some hiking before paddling back to Brentwood. This was the first of what will hopefully become an annual trip for students in the Marine 10 course. A big thanks to the Lieutenant Governor of BC, the Honourable Judith Guichon, for her generous grant through the Stewards of the Future program, for making this trip possible.
